8cm or 10cm exhaust/turbine housing for GReddy t518z??
OK need a new turbine housing for my t518z. options are an 8cm housing and a 10cm housing.car is a 180sx, engine is an sr20det which one is best suited for drifting? i know the 8cm spools up a bit quicker but is there that much of a difference to justify sacrificing the extra horse power that the 10cm produces???
cheers

I'd get the smaller one. I had the T518Z with the bigger housing and it acted like an ON/OFF switch. Stomp on the gas and it just lagged till it hit 3-3.5k and power comes on instantaneously, causing the rear to swing around. Smaller one would hopefully deliver a smoother power.

I have the 10cm.. on a stock ca18det.. running a rich tune... which is making it laggier.. but i'm still getting full boost at 3700rpm.. and it has tons of tq from there and does not drop off at all.. i'd prolly get a 8cm if i could.. response is everything.. but both 8 and 10cm are pretty responsive for journal bearing turbos...if the tune is right and especially if you have cams.. cams really make the difference here.
Try the 8cm and if it's not enough for you.. i'd considering swapping my 10cm for your 8cm.
