1971 Datsun 510 wagon, automatic w/L16

miles: unknown, the ODO only reads to 99,999 and dosen't function. I do not want to make a false claim.

The car had not been on the road since the early eighties when I got it and I have replaced the following:

- head gasket
- carb rebuild
- radiator hoses
- fuel lines
- brake lines
- brake master cylinder
- brake calipers (front)
- brake pads (front)
- brake cylinders (rear)
- thermostat
- fuel filter

the car runs and drives, the furthest I have driven it was about a 20 minute drive.
it's slow, I'm not sure if it's tuned right, the trans is slipping, or if that's just the normal speed for an L16 with an automatic transmission

it's got some rust patches but I'd say it's an overall solid car.

the floorboards aren't rusted through. they look bad in the pictured because they are covered with carpet adhesive tar (or carpet that has turned into tar/ not sure what)

I'm selling this to fund restoration work on my other 510 wagon.

You could probably put a bit of work into this and make it a running beater OR you can strip it down and rebuild it. I have the thing plated and insured in at the moment but I'm not confident to call it reliable transportation. I'm sure it could probably use replacement bushings and ball joints all around. it should also be parked inside as water can leak into the fuel tank due to poor sealing gas cap.

The car didin't come with keys. The ignition switch is broken and the car can be started with about any key.

I'm selling this for $1500 negotiable, and will consider partial trades + cash for parts I can use for restoration on my other wagon or aftermarket goodies for my S14.

the car has had some primer sprayed onto the back since the above pictures were taken.

the car DOES NOT include the longchamps in the picture and will include whatever rollers I can get together between now and the time of sale. I will include the original hubcaps (and even the 13x4 super heavy steel wheels) without tires if you want them.

You can call me from 7AM to midnight at (704)254-5457 or text me any time.

I have the clean title, in my name on hand.

damn man why do you have to be in NC? why not SC....LOL

Let me see whats going on over the next few weeks. I may be able to swing up there and pick this up. Been looking for a wagon to mess around with for a while now. Dont like the AUTO tranny, but then again this will keep me from throwing WAY too much money into another car....lol.
