Xtreme Drift Circuit Announces 2010 Championship Schedule and Championship Prizes January 4, 2009 (Tustin, Calif.) – The Xtreme Drift Circuit, drifting’s first nationwide Pro-Am championship, is proud to announce its six-round 2010 championship season with events across the country – launching with drifting’s Holy Grail of venues, and culminating in a finale with the Formula Drift Pro-Am Nationals.
The XDC will begin its season at the ‘House of Drift’, Toyota Speedway at Irwindale in Southern California, on March 20, 2010. From there, the series heads to Las Vegas Motor Speedway on May 22, and then to the east coast on June 19 at Summit Point Raceway. August 7 will see the XDC at Raceway Park in Englishtown, New Jersey, and then to a brand new drifting venue the Texas Motor Speedway on September 25. The season will finish on October 16 at Firebird Raceway in tandem with the Formula Drift Pro-Am Nationals.
Working in conjunction with the Formula Drift Pro Championship, the XDC prize package will provide a huge reward to the drivers committing to the 2010 season. The drivers finishing in the top three of the XDC championship will earn Formula Drift Pro Championship licenses for the 2011 season, while the top placers in each XDC event will be automatically granted an invitation to the Pro-Am Nationals at the end of the season.
“Our 2010 XDC Championship schedule hits several major drifting markets throughout the United States,” said Michael Munar, President of XDC Events, Inc. “As a platform for our drivers to advance to the next level of drifting competition, we are very happy with our venues and circuits. We couldn’t be more excited about starting our series at the legendary Irwindale Speedway. It will be a great way to launch the XDC and start unveiling the future stars of drifting.”
US Drift will be staffing and managing the XDC, and technical inspection will be handled by Formula Drift as part of the XDC’s partnership with the series. The series will soon publish its rulebook, which closely mirrors the Formula Drift Pro-Am rulebook.
