Just received the driver side window switch from a 97 240sx but the connections are different than my 98 240sx SE. Why is this? I can only get a window switch from a 98? The two switches look exactly the same but the connections are different. What should I do? http://www.sfldrifters.com/forums/images/darkfantasy/misc/progress.gif

Someone lied to you. The switch you have received is a 1995 switch. '96-'98 use the same switch, the '95 is different.
This has been covered for over a decade.

I never knew because I have never dealt with this problem till now. When I did look it up I was told 96-98 are the same so i ordered from this thread http://zilvia.net/f/sale-items/300725-97-nissan-240sx-small-mods-auto-green-130k-complete-part-out-located-pa-19406-a.html

Either your existing switch or the switch you were sent is a 1995 model. There's no other answer. The plug is different but the '96-'98 switch also uses an internal amplifier vs. the external amplifier on the '95 model. There's no way for you to make a '95 switch work unless you have the door harness and amplifier also.

I have a 98 and it uses an external amplifier as well. I will post up pictures and let me know what I have.

If it has an external amplifier, it's a 1995 switch, amp, and harness. Someone swapped it over before you bought the car. Either that, or it's a whole 1995 door. The key cylinder will have a harness for alarm arm/disarm/tamper if it's a 1995 model. '96-'98s do not have the alarm wiring in the door.

Man, been looking for a while now for that switch too, for my zenki. Can you remember where you got it from? Because I am turning up with nothing every time I try to find one, besides the $200 stealership edition, lol.
