Hello all,
I currently have the battery relocated in the trunk of my 93 hatch and did some research on battery relocates.
I was wondering if anyone could tell me why the most popular relocation is always to the right of the spare tire (above the fuel pump) ???
Is there something underneath the hatch on the left side that shouldn't be drilled into?
Could some one please enlighten me on this isssue as I'm thinking of moving it over to the left side of my trunk space.
Thanks in advance!

Well allot of people hate to run wires so if you think about it the original battery location is on the passanger side. So its just easier just to run the wire straight back/hide them then try to run them back and across and all that useless crap. I mean does it really matter where the battery is at in the back anyways.

^ to the average person who just wanted to re-locate the battery...then no. But since your re-locating the battery anyways, why not put it where it will matter the most...
I have re-located the battery but I put it on the passenger side, due to (me) driver is on the left. I did this to balance out the car. I am now going to re-locate behind the passenger seat, to still balance the car and also in that location is the lowest center of gravity.
I don't have a S13 so I can't answer your question on where to drill your holes...

thanks for the responses, i never thought about that...how did you secure the box though if you're putting it behind the passenger seat?
Does anyone have pictures of their battery relocation setups?

Mine is right behind the passenger seat in my hatch. I used a few of the stock bolt holes to run the mounts for the straps and bought a $12 box from checker's 10' of 2 gauge wire and a few other little things

the only concern i have with putting the battery right on top of the fuel pump / in the trunk area is if i get rear ended badly (knock on wood) and the car leaks fuel i'm pretty much GG.
Does anyone have pics of their battery in the back seat (behind passenger seat)?
