Welded is fine, better if done at a good shop that knows what they are doing.

Contact blu808 if you want a welded, he has the Weld Locd diffs. They are good sauce.

Also, obviously a 2-way, or 1.5way L.S.D. is supreme commander, but since you said you needed it to be cheap, this probably will not be the target of your aim.
