S13 Brake Light Issue

I had this prob w/ S13 Hatch too. If your talking about the center brake light on the hatch lid, it is most likely a pinch in the hatch lid wire harness. This usually happens after years of opening and closing the lid. The wires in the harness control the brake light/defroster and wiper so you'll need a test light to see what is what.

Open the hatch/trunk lid and look at the wire harness where the hatch lid meets the roof of the car. Wiggle those wires, use a test light/check fuses/bulb have some one step on the brake when you look at it. If you find a pinch/break in the wires just splice with new copper wires (1 red, 1 black) using buddings to connect to new copper wires. Worked for me. Hope this helped!
