Camshaft

Hi everybody !

I own a 93 s13 with sr20det. Upgrades are : Gt2871R turbo, 740cc injectors, Z32 MAF, FMIC, Nismo F.P.R. all basic mods...

My question is what would you recommend as upgrade for my camshafts ???

I would like to hear from people with personal experience...a basic 264/264 cam or a lot more aggressive....

I drive this car only in summer and need to go dyno tune.

I'm aiming @ 350whp

BC 264 cams.....

CodyAce, who has one of the best setups on here, runs Jim Wolf S3 cams, which are ~11.2 mm lift and I believe 260/260.

I am running HKS Step 2s, which are a little more aggressive, 264/264 and 12/11.5 mm for In/Ex.


You have to be careful though, bc as you know, Peak lift and duration don't tell the whole story with cams....there are other things that are important, like the ramp profile etc....

Jspaeth : Would you still reccommend BC for cams.....will I have problems and if so what kind...

Im asking because there is a good deal on Enjuku Racing, cams and set of springs plus retainers for 500 $

if you all think i should spend 100 $ more and go with JWT S3 or HKS or even Tomei, i will...

BC and JW are both good brands, I would say go 264 and you should be good up to 450 whp.

Some people say jwt cams are the best street cam on the market. I have had bc 264's, hks step 1 264's, and now im running a set of jwt s3's. Overall I have enjoyed my s3 cams more than the others. Better powerband.
