A little small but not too bad. You should get pretty good response and full boost at low rpm's. It really depends I guess what your goals are for the engine and at what price the turbo is I guess.

i think its perfect
but i like smaller turbos
quick spool > lag

is it a t3 flange? if its a t3 flange id prefer a .63 or bigger housing for the turbine.

agreed.. if thats a T4 then the Turbine AR should be fine.. but if its a T3 I would be looking at .82

Thanks for the comments.
I want a really responsive car, but am looking to get between 300 and 400 horsepower at the wheels. I would like to hit full boost no later than 3,500rpm, but am not to sure on how to pick my turbo. Any help would be great.
Thanks

Didn't end up getting it, but how about a HOLSET H1C Turbo????
I haven't seen this one, but looks like an H-Series Turbo anybody know??? It has BCC1449 on the cold side and part number is 3528763. I can't find which turbo it is and some specs.

If your looking at Holsets, a HX40 is perfect for a RB25.

im not that familiar with t04 turbos but with the goals you have in mind for your car it sounds alot like you should have went the holset route. both the hx35 which im investing in and the hx40 can spool fast and support the numbers your looking for.

There's a few videos on YouTube or streetfire with a guy who has a hx35 or 40 on his rb25 check it out. A T3 turbo with those low ar's is just to small for an rb, yea you will get fast spool but eventually you are going to want more power. Get a decent size turbo to start with and enjoy the rb for
what it's worth. People talk about lag but everyones views are different. Stay out of the gt42,t78,t88 range and you will be happy. The guys who are talking about the Holset turbos are right, fairly cheap, good power, and there are plenty of people out there using them with positive results. Please forgive my sentences I'm on an iPhone.

HOLSET CUMMINS TURBO CHARGER - REBUILT - H1 FAST SHIP : eBay Motors (item 320477378120 end time Jan-26-10 18:36:04 PST) (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320477378120&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT)
Called the owner and he states it was off an older 90's small bus.
Also, how about a Garrett TB4129 it has a compressor housing of .60 and turbine of .84 with a 60 trim.
Thanks

A holset hx40 with a 16cm housing is gonna spool super quick(like off idle) but it gonna choke it out up top(above 5000rpm), a 19cm housing will be a little laggier but pull all the way to 8500 and should make around 550-600whp. If I remember correctly the H1C is a size in between the hx35 and the hx40. The hx35 comes off a cummins diesel in the 90's dodge trucks, the hx40 comes off a bus.

a 16cm isnt going to spool quick... a 9cm bep will however. H1C is smaller than a HX35. It'll flow between 46(smaller ones) and 52lb/min - and good for about 500whp at best.
the .70 bep t3 housing is the best option.
The HX35 is from the late 90s - early 90s were H1C.
