Well i went out to do a couple test runs at 30 psi starting in 4th gear on my good falken tires to get an idea where my a/f is sitting with fuel pressure between 3 and 4 bar. Wanted to get an idea of how much i can adjust it back down but no traction at all in 4th gear it wouldnt make any more than 28.5psi without just breaking the tires completely loose.
I was running on 110 race fuel. As you can see my a/f is very rich, I can probably drop the fuel pressure 5-7psi and pick up quite a bit more power as well.
Anyways here are the runs.
This one was at 24-25psi, blew two of my large vac caps off my manifold and felt the lost power right away.

Fixed the massive vac/boost leak and went for a run at 30psi, actually only hit 28.5 psi max but above 24psi it just wanted to blow the tires off.

This one was just playing with the throttle cuz it was all spin, haha

yeah lake havasu is not too far from yuma at all. been there a couple times. Yeah i was trying to hit 30psi but the tires wouldnt hold long enough for it to reach anything above 28.8psi or so. After 24psi the tires would just break loose.

sunds like a fun car to drive. got to get some better tires on it. I go to yuma once a month to see a friend i live in havasu but spend allot of time in parker. sick car would love to see a day time run.

yeah im gonna do some other vids but yeah this was on basicly new 205 falkens. Only better i could do is some 225 bfg's but i daily drive the car to work and dont want to wear those expensive tires out if i were to get them.

i run 205's on my 240 lil small of a tire for all that power. should make a build thread on this car. be cool to see what is all done to it

that car is bad! very cool, throw some slicks on it and see what it will do.
i run a 225 BFG drag radial on a 2J 240sx and that hooks decent
Get some bolt on ZG flares and wider wheel/tire setup. Car would be so sick!
Seriously one of my dream cars. I had a B12 as a daily driver. Thing was indestructible.

Any idea of HP?
Need to throw some slicks on that bitch!
It would roll out so hard.

At 30psi.....Roughly 550whp, 475wtq
I run 19psi daily on pump gas and that makes 450whp, 380wtq.

Get it to hook and run 10's!
Haha.
Props.

haha, get it to hook and run a high 9 is what im shooting for. haha
I already went
[email protected] on a 95 deg summer night on 7 year old 24.5X7 m/ts that were bald and showing threads by the end of my 3rd run.
That run was done on 24psi before the custom intake manifold and Q45 throttle body. The manifold at all my boost levels was roughly a 40-50whp gain, more boost, more power it made. So yeah back out on 30psi and some 24.5X9X13 new m/t's i should be able to hook fairly well
Hopefully i can nail the gears quick without shattering the teeth like normally happens on the street when quick shifting. Ive gone through 3 gearstacks soo far on this setup. Which is about a year old and 9000 miles. But hey i cant complain, i do beat the crap out of it every day i drive it. haha

here is the vid of the 11.1 run done in the summer time before the manifold and TB and only 24psi of boost.
As you can hear, the slicks were still spinning until mid 3rd. I also had a problem with my ACT clutch slipping top of 4th too, Now the twin disk is in there so i dont have to worry about that and i can actually do a nice 2nd gear burnout to heat the slicks up good instead of just spinning the water off them.

Very nice car and build considering you tuned and built it yourself. How wide are your front wheels? Looks like a 7 to me. Maybe you should try something wider.
And Yuma is pretty dang boring haha. Stayed there for a week about 3 weeks ago and there wasn't much to do at all besides going to The Golden Cue..
ashtonroche
01-18-2010, 05:07 PM
yeah i think they are 7" wide wheels. They are genuine Racing Sparco NS2's in 15's. Pretty sure they are 7's though. The widest tire i can possibly run is a 225 bfg for street use but i daily drive the car and cant afford to go through tires that fast.
