Well here are a few pics of my ride, finally after a couple months. Hehe

Ok, before you look at them, let me give a few notes. Yes I realize the gas door is painted black. I needed to do that because it was rusting out, and I couldn't match the red paint properly. Any sort of red matching looked like garbage so I just painted it black.

Secondly, yes, those are Primax rims. I know, I know. But I'm 18 and heading off to university next year, so I don't have an incredible budget to work with.

With that said, here they are:

My future plans are most likely to go KA-T, of course counting on my summer budget holding out.

I plan to run:

- Z31 T3 (stock wastegate at 5 psi)
- Custom manifold (fun I know  )
- Walbro 190 or 255
- FPR
- Throttle body injector (possibly)
- 1G Talon BOV

I think 5 pounds will be just fine. Hopefully the fuel management I have in mind won't let me go lean.

The only problem is, the current compression on my SOHC is 155-160 across the board. When the stock is factory: 192, minimum: 142. Yet, the motor never smokes and runs really strong. Any suggestions?

All comments welcome... except Dousan's on the topic of 17x7 rims with 38 offset. :D

lol maybe switch colors on ur gas door and on the roof...

black roof, red gas door (just in case u didnt get it)

maybe paint ur rims a flat black...that'd look sweet

black mirrors...(all stuff u can do on ur own)

umm....get some new springs/shocks as soon as u can...kill that wheel-gap :hammer:

looks good to me!...those rims arent half bad anyways...probably heavy as molasses tho

I got 150psi average in the cylls compared to the 180 stock.... plan on running 5psi myself

240racer on this board turboed his at about the same compression level and ran 9psi.... result - about 50psi compression when he called it quits. So expect it to go down, but depending on how careful you are it could be rather later than sooner ;)

Other than that, the car looks decent but that gap looks worse with the rims.... so GET RID OF IT :D

um... ok, so that's the original SOHC right? How many miles on it? Personally I don't think I'd turbo an engine with more than 80k max... had the engine ever been rebuilt?

Thanks for all the comments guys. :coolugh:

My motor has 168,000 km on it, which is about 105,000 miles.

Perhaps a decent condition CA18DET would suit me better?

The motor definatly has to be streetable, reliable, and daily drivable. I'm only looking at about 180-200 rwhp max at the moment.

a stock SR or CA would be ideal for you then :)
168kliks is about the borderline of turbo safety, of course every engine is different, so it really depends on the condition, but since you're SOHC, a CA/SR would probably be a better option, it may cost more, but look at it this way, you'll have a WAY younger (mileage wise) engine that will run for years.

although...since you're SOHC you DO have the option to go carbs/individual throttle bodies. carbs aren't the greatest for reliability but an ITB setup could be setup to run like stock.
