My wheels are 16x8 36 offeset so it said on the box they came in from factory. Anyway I like the look of r32 wheels, and my wheels look like they sorta in size and design except the offset..IIRC they're 30 offset. I wanted to just get some 5mm bolt-on spacers, so I don't have to use extended studs because I would like to run my stock wheels with hub caps for winter use or anytime I need to take the 16's off. This whill put me closer to the skyline wheel spec, plus take care of the tad bit of rubbing I have against the front struts it seems.

Only thing is I'm afraid of running into the problem in this thread bellow. Anyone think it will be an issue? From what I made of his post his bolt on spacers are not large enough to cover the full length of the stock studs, so when he put his wheels on they would hit the end of them. Therefore preventing them from sliding on the spacer studs.

if you're only gonna use 5mm then slip ons will work fine, even without extended studs.

lol i was thinking the same thing too, i don't think anyone makes a 5mm bolt on. i've never seen anything smaller than a 15mm bolt on.

Yeah I realized when I did some searching after the post. So 5 mm I should be good with just regular tuner lugs and stock studs. Friend of mine said I need to at least get 4 complete turns out of the nuts, and that's depending on who you ask. I should try and get hub centric spacers and ones that are 4x114.3 specific right?

ideally yes you should get hubcentric, but i wouldn't worry too much about it with only 5mm. (if it was bolt on i would highly recommend getting hubcentric) most slip ones will fit multiple lug patterns, both 4 and 5lug.

Cool thanks to both of you for posting

not sure but if there's a difference between S14 and S13. I have 5mm slip on spacers on my S14 and there wasn't enough thread for me to feel safe with. I ended up buying extended studs.

You can buy OPEN end lug nuts, so you can put your stockers back on.

Got a s14. oh great lol, there goes that idea. Plus I already have lug nuts I like so not trying to have to buy another set.

Well if I can't do 5 on stuck studs, can I atleast do 3. Trying to do at least something, because I've noticed it looked like a I have rub marks on my front struts with a thin layer of rubber. When I look on the inside sidewall I don't really see wear, so if it rubbed at all I guess only a small amount until there was some clearance between the sidewalls and strut casing?

thinking of these....

On stock studs? If I can run atleast a 3mm for peace of mind with the rubbing that would be some help. But if I can run the 5mm I would get that, plus being closer to the offset of the skyline wheels which resemble mine a lot and I happen to like on s14s. I'll still be like a mm off but oh well lol

Just thought about something. Okay stock lug nuts are open.

So say if I got spacers like ichiba v1 that come with extended studs. I would assume the ichiba studs would only be 5mm longer than stock if you got there 5mm spacers. Therefore it would end up being the same as stock lug length?

Is that right? If so that would mean I could still use my closed tuner lugs?

Might not be a bad route after all if that's the case. Plus safer I would imagine.

I have 8mm Spacers on my S14, though I needed Extended wheel studs because of my Q45 brake calipers would rub on the back of my wheels and there wasn't enough thread for lugs to catch, went and bought Nismo 60mm studs and got open end lug nuts from a friend. Looks stock now.

Hmm see your point...

I think right know I might just try to go with the 3mm on ebay for a tad more clearance on the tires and not be greedy and go for the 5 on stock studs. Maybe I'll run into some lower offset 4 lug wheels down the road I like with in budget. Anyone see any problems with the 3mm on stock studs or the spacers I'm looking at...

here they are again...

Just checking back in for opinions, all else fails I'd at least like to get those 3mm on ebay if that's the limit for stock studs. If no one sees any issues with them.

Thanks

i have 1/4 inch spacers on the front of my s13. that's about 7mm, and i have plenty of stud left to get lugs on.

Just found this..according to enjuku racing's site, you only need extendeds if you're gonna run a spacer larger than 5mm

5mm and 3mm Slip-On Spacers [ sliponspacers ] - Enjuku Racing - Performance Parts and High Quality Fabrication (http://www.enjukuracing.com/slipon-spacers-p-6385.html)

I dunno I'm reading on other forums that are to fond of 5mm spacers on stock studs, then again they're not a forum dedicated to 240's. I'm gonna have to look at the struts some more to make sure its rub marks I'm seeing. Should I be rubbing the struts with 16x8 36 off set wheels? When I first got the wheels mounted the guy thought i would need spacers, but then said he felt I had room. Right now I almost just wanna leave as is and save up for lower offsets
