went for an aligment about 3 weeks ago had about 50% life on my tires.

aligmnet spec:

front:
camber -1.5
toe: .3
caster : 6.7 or some thing

everything within specs except for camber

rear:
camber -2.5
toe- .5

with in 3 weeks my front tires are now bald wtf? more wear on the middle of tire then ends but the ends are pretty worn down as well.. im running 35psi tire pressure.

tires:
235/40/17 advan a03 17x9.5+15 rims
255/40/17 yoko s-drive 17x9.5 +15 rim

why is my tires wearing so rapidly? is some thing off? help please

aslo can some one recoment a good tire that last long and performs decent?

thanks

It's the toe creating pressure between the tires causing them to wear down faster.

My buddy went through a set of RT615s in 6 weeks because of toe.

I hope you mistyped that and aren't running -0.5 toe in back, otherwise I'd hate to be in your car going into a corner.

Go to R/T Tuning. Pat will do the best alignment in the area.

I run 0 toe all around. Perfect tire wear.

I was just about to say, we already answered your question in the wheel fitment thread.

What, did you think we were fucking with you and giving you false information about your insane amount of toe or something?

If there's one thing that pisses me off more than anything, is people asking for advice, then when I or other people give them advice, they don't take it, then they ask why their shit is still broke or why their shit still suck.

Yeah exactly.

However, most OEM setups have some toe-in, as this makes the car more stable on turn-in....

But from what I've read, alot of race setups have near zero toe all around.

Toe kills tires faster than camber, as everyone knows, but if you are running -3 camber, then eventually you are gonna wear the inside edges down much more quickly than the outside.

With that much toe out, I don't know how your car isn't all over the place.

err i just paid $150 for a "race alignment" thinking they knew what they were doing..

this sucks now i gotta buy new tires and get another alignment done..

the car is twitchy, it pulls randomly to right and left but not all the time only if the road is groved.. im pissed, wish i could do my own alignment..

Well the pulling thing is not alignment.

Any car with remotely wide wheels will pull when the road is sufficiently badly grooved.

But if on a flat road, you nudge the steering wheel and the car feels like it dangerously lurches, then that is not good.

Yeah if the shop put your alignment at the specs you told us, than that is weak sauce by them

Pulling can be from the toe settings and from bumpsteer in the front end.

But as everyone said, your alignment guy sucks ass. You should have said something from minute one when you realized the car drove like ass.

Next time ask him to pour some sugar in your gas tank, and charge you $300 for an octane boost.

Fucking gullible dumbass.

just curious, where did you get this alignment done? i'm assuming somewhere in QNZ, so i don't really have to worry about it, since i rarely go there. but it's nice to get a heads up for the locals.

The idiot i bought my car from was super rich, and possibly the stupidest person ive ever met. Terrible combination.
When I bought the car he said that he turned the tow in as far as possible, to make it handle better. Since Im a mechanic, i know its camber to make the car handle better, so I just assumed thats what he did. Took it to my shop to align it and he put the tow in so far the machine couldnt register it. I turned them out, and it didnt register until it hit 1 degree. I estimated that he had the tow in like 2 degrees; and he wondered why no one else had to change their tires so often.
