Hey guys, I have been searching sites for answers for a couple days now and after all I wanted to ask my specific question with my setup. I believe this will be a simple answer but please help.

I have an 93' chassis 4-lug. I am getting an S15 front clip w 6-spd. I found a 300z TT hub spindle brake everything for sale but it sold before I was able to get back and pay for it. So I went to the junk yard the other and found a 2002ish Q45. I plan on buying all four corner brake spindle hubs, rear axles, diff, driveshaft.

My questions are.....

S15 6-spd tranny to diff., will stock q45 driveshaft work? If not has anyone used a 350z shaft???

What else would I need to get the brake/suspension systems working, if anything?

Any light on this would be awesome!!!! D

I dont know the answer to your first question, but the q45 brakes bolt up just like stock, expect you will have to redrill the q45 rotors.

As for the diff swap...are you keeping the s chassis rear sub frame or trying to swap in the q's?

What I am thinking of doing is from the tranny back have almost all Q45.. Drive shaft to diff to axle's to spindles/hubs to brakes; everything Q45. And then just upgrade the front spindles/hubs and brakes on the front.

I want to use the 350z shaft b/c it is much lighter and can get one for about $100.

As for the diff I am going to purchase the whole kit and kaboodle. I may try to open the housing on mine and trade the internals out. There are also 2 J20's there with diff's but both are 93' - 94' year, which I have read are hard to get to work in the sx...

You need the rear end out of the S15 to make it work. The speed sensor on the S15 is in the Differential.

As for the Q45 driveshaft, you should be able to answer that yourself. The Q45 is an Auto, and your tranny is a manual, so all things aside, that should tell you immediately that it won't work.

The Q45 front spindles/5-lug won't fit on an S-chassis either.

The LSD from the Q45 will need the rear cover from the S13, and depending on the year of the Q45 you will need either 300zx TT hubs or Q45 hubs and the axles need to be from a 300zx TT Driver's side and the Q45 Driver's side. (For pre-96 Q45's)

For the 96-01 Q45 you just need J30 axles and the S13 rear cover.

However, none of these will work with the S15 6-speed (if you want a speedo) and the only driveshaft that will work is either a custom one, or one from a 5-speed S13 with ABS (if you use the S15 rear end)

That info is still mostly on the Z upgrade and not from an Infiniti J or Q... So as for 5-lug conversion, it's not just that easy as grabbing the hubs from the J30 or Q45 and switch them out.

Nothing in the front of a Q45 will work besides the brakes. Front hubs used are either S14 with matching spindles or Peak/Ichiba aftermarket. For the rear, S14 or Z32 NA, or J30 if used with the entire upright. You can use Q45 or Z32 TT rear hubs if you also use the larger splined axles from those models, but neither one will bolt to the S15 differential, and the combination of axles/diff from those cars is too long to fit the S13 subframe unless you mix/match parts.

Obviously the driveshaft from a 4dr sedan is nowhere near short enough to fit into a 2dr coupe. How you even assumed it might work is beyond me.

As said, you need to use the S15 differential if you plan to use the 6spd gearbox, unless you don't want a speedometer.

All of this info is well documented all over the web, not just on here. You can answer all your questions if you take a few minutes to research them.

I don't know what I was thinking about the drive shaft from the Q, and your right I def. should have known that!!! SRY...

I have been searching for a week trying to get more info on this and all I find are Q45's that are in the 90'-96' ish range. No one has talked about a 2002 or newer conversion. There are a couple J30's there that are like 93'-95' and will just pick up all four corner for the brake system.

I am also going to search for an S15 diff. It is awesome how you don't even think of all that is needed till you start adding it all up.

Has anyone heard of using the 350z drive shaft???
