I've been to every parts store around here looking for a Hayne's manual for my '92 240sx, and nobody carries one, so I have to order one and wait for it to come in. In the meanwhile I have my tranny out of my car and I need to put everything back together and I need some torque specs... can anyone help me out? Bell housing, flywheel, pressure plate.

Thanks!

Well until I save up some extra scratch for the FSM and since yours is always with you... maybe you can give me a few passages out of the book of torque specs and tolerances. :D

Not that I know of. The pressure plate actually bolts onto the flywheel. It looks like an ummm... pressure plate.

Thanks so far!

all the fsm shows is
flywheel w/ clutch disk on top and clutch cover ontop of that....

Clutch cover? I think we have a winner! Does that have torque specs?

yeah that one is tricky so i hope i make sense (not tricky just hard to explain)

ok it has 6 bolts on it
if we choose bolt #1 as the top bolt (12 oclock)
bolt #4 as lowest bolt (6 oclock position)
this is going in a clockwise position, 1, 2, ...6
torque order is
1, 3, 5, 2, 4, 6

spec is first step: 14 ft-lb
second step: 16-22 ft-lb

ill scan it up tonight..but wont be till LATE tonight if i have time..hard to say..

You don't need to scan it, this is just your normal regular circular torque pattern, kinda like tightening wheel lug nuts, every other lug or criss cross. You always tighten things down like that that are circular, it keeps you from warping them.
