my car came with an aftermarket fuel pump but i dont know what brand or how much better it is than stock.
im wondering because i recently installed a fpr and gauge and noticed that why i rev my motor my fpr gauge loses psi. is that normal?
and does the fuel pump go bad slowly or does it just take a dump and not work at all? is there a way to test the fuel pump i guess is what i need to know.

i know how to take it out, im asking how do i verify that its good enough to supply fuel to 850cc injectors and push over 300whp. is there a way to test the output.

honestly, just go out and buy one that you know will work and replace it with what you have now. new walbro's are ~100, cheaper used. better play it safe now than risk it in the long run.

Get inside fuel pressure gauge . If the pressure drop when you are on boost then you need better pump.

Pressure wont go up since you're under vacuum. Pressure will go up when you go into boost with an FPR

its a nismo fpr and a noshock gauge from frsport. doesnt have fluid but it's supposed to be have stable needles.

Your fuel pressure should not drop a hair when you rev up. If that happens you could be running the risk of leaning out and causing engine damage. I dont thing your fuel pump has a high enough volume to keep up with your engine, so just replace it.

when you rev and notice pressure drop are you seeing vacuum on the guage, vacuum lowers the pressure, the higher you rev (increasing the throttle slowly and steadily) the higher vacuum you get, at WOT you get close to atmospheric pressure, and fuel pressure will be higher.
To check pump, pinch the fuel line and watch the pressure. Can it hit about 60PSI, don't exceed 2-3 seconds or you damage the pump.
You can also take off the hose and record how much flow you get in 30 seconds, you should get about 1 quart. Note pump relay is controlled by ECM and will shut off, so you need to jump the relay.
Write back your readings

Nismo FPR...? this is your weak link,...search for a thread where 7 or 8 guys said that the Nismo FPR is shit...and replaced them with aeromotive FPR,
Now aeromotive have lifetime warrenty too !!!!
Check the FPR b4 paying 100$ for a walbro,
If the FPR turned out ok...get bosch 044 fuel pump...it's an inline FP but you can use it in tank...
Will keep you good for 600-700 bhp...not only 300 bhp

Thats a big negative on that one...Walbro pump are known to die "slowly". Most OEM pump are designed to take the big dump when they die. Most tuners will prefer OEM pumps over Walbro for this reason.

yes very true, seen it from experience, but even OEM sometimes, very rarely get weak
