ok, here's the thing my car does this weird popping/crackling thing at idle and it seems to get worst the hotter the car gets.

the car drives fine, and has plenty of power.

I can only run the car at with the ignition timing set completely clockwise(fully retarded) for it to run right and if i time the motor properly, it barely runs, dies out and barely has any power. i thought that the cas was stabbed a tooth off, so i tried that and it only gets worst if i change the tooth.

I bought the motor this way and dont even really know where to start.

If anyone has experienced this issue and has resolved it, please lmk what you did.

For my first post i would like to commend you on asking for only smart suggestions while proceeding to spell DRIVEABILITY incorrectly.

But it sounds like you need to get a new timing chain and tensioner and set the timing so you know it's correct. I just took a timing chain and tensioner off of a 74K mile TSX that had a stretched timing chain causing the car to run incorrectly and a CEL to come on. You could be having the same problem.
