what would be the best tires, or peoples suggestions, im looking for some good tires, that have grip, but can kick out easy and create a lot of smoke, and not to expensive. thanks

I don't know about smoke, but right now I am using Kumho Ecsta MX.

They are considered an "Extreme Performance Tire".....basically, highest class of grip (maybe I'm wrong) before you start getting into R compound tires or slicks or whatever.

I have 245/40/17.....I get them through Tire Rack for roughly $125 a tire.

Damn cheap, and they grab like crazy. Car and Driver did a tire comparison a while back and amongst other tires in the same "class", I believe these were the grippiest.

However, they didn't finish 1st overall bc they are pretty damn bad in the snow or rain. But for dry traction, they were ranked the highest.

Tread rating is 220 IIRC

595's would prob be ideal for drifting.

Ecsta MX's were great in it's heydey (early to mid 2000's).
They were a solid road-race tire in that they gripped well and didn't overheat easily.
I still daily my S14 on them and autoX.
Think they might have been replaced by the Ecsta XS.

I think Dunlop Direzza Z1's are the best tire for the $$$ today.
It offers damn good dry grip & very good wet grip.
I use them on my evo for autoX and hpde's with utmost satisfaction.
