Drivers are facing severe weather conditions in the streets of Miami-Dade on Saturday morning.
Wicked winter chills continued to taunt South Floridians on Saturday. There were gray skies and cold rain -- but little chance of snow.

The culprit, according to the National Weather Service, was a mix of moisture and cold north winds. They turned Florida into the suddenly gray Sunshine State

In Central Florida, reports trickled in of light snow and frost. In (relatively) warmer South Florida, the water fell as cold rain.

But we still felt chilly. On Saturday afternoon, Miami and Fort Lauderdale were both at 45 degrees, weather service meteorologist Dan Gregoria said.

Tonight, the rain likely will subside as the moisture moves away, he said. But cold winds will continue pouring in from the north and a freeze warning will be in place tonight, meaning temperatures could drop to 32 degrees or below.

In fact, wind speed is expected to reach 10 to 20 miles per hour. The wind chill means it could feel like 20 degrees outside, he said.

``That's dangerous wind chills for South Florida,'' Gregoria said. ``It's not anything people are used to down here.''

And the chills will continue on Sunday., when temperatures are expected to top out in the 50s.

WTF mate!? lol

Yeah I know that's nothing for you guys up north, haha...old people all over are freaking out over here.

This is an ongoing conversation in the Premium Members Section... :ddog:

Anyway, my whole base was on a 2-hour delay Friday morning, because of the THREAT of snow Thursday night. We had a warm front move in off the coast that rose the temperature into the 40's. All we got was a light rain, but I got to sleep in. :D

Usually its one or two days in the year there might be some light dust of snow in the panhandle but not as far down as Miami.

Sir, the new buzz word is "Global Climate Change". Global warming is soooo 2004.

Anyways, the last time it snowed in Miami was Jan. 19, 1977. The snow hasn't hit here.

Driving conditions are more dangerous in places where it never snows than in places where it snows regularly.
In the snow belt areas there is an army of snow plows, where people have winter tires and people are accustomed to winter driving so people get by.
In the non-snow belt areas the region will hardly have any snow clearing equipment, the drivers will have summer grade tires etc. Even if you are in a vehicle that can handle the weather, the guy behind you may not be when he slams his brakes and his car keeps going....

Freezing temps in FL suck because of the humidity. I work outside in this shit all day. And not having warm shit other than issued makes it suck worse.

Canadians eat that shit up.

I live in the midwest, home of shitty weather, and even I am impressed by the Canadians adaptability to winter conditions.

Don't be fooled. Despite the fact that a lot of us can and will adapt to anything, there is a vast majority of "Canadians" who forget how to drive the second rain or snow hits the ground.

I was referring to the clothing more than anything.

Girls walking around in shorts, flip flops, and hoodies in the middle of snow storms.

FL FAIL, its not supposed to get cold like this, thats why we are in FL.

I woke up this morning to my windshield covered in ice, never happened to me before. I like it when its cool, 50-60's. but this is rediculous. If it were to warm up just alittle it would be perfect
