Im getting some coilovers soon and it got me thinking about some things. First off I know one advantage of having coilovers is their ride height adjustability. I know that anytime you lower a car you have to get an alignment. Is this the case everytime you adjust the ride height with a coilover? Do any of you with coilovers adjust height often and if so what do you do? Also i was wondering how do you know if each coilover is set to exactly the same height? Is it by looks? Do i pull out a tape mesure or something? Is this where cornerweighting comes in? Id like to hear from you coilover pros on this. Wheres Dousan when you need him?

HERE I COME TO SAVE THE DAY!
i tape measure it
my friend says count threads but im lazy and will do that when i get it corner balanced. :boink:
i adjust mine .....er...maybe 1 a month sometimes more sometimes every other month but i love to tinker with it. for buying something ilke coilovers, you shoudl. if you dont you should have just boght shocks and springs...and if you get coilovers i belive you should corner balanced it as well! i need to get mine done.....
you dont need an alignment EVERYTIME but if you want to be PERFECT you do. if you drop it from stock height to the ground then yeah youwill but minor changes, eh. i wouldnt worry
also i wont corner blaance my HEs. waiting for my new coilovers to arrive :fruit:

There's a baseline height setting for the coilovers, listed in the instruction manual. That is where cornerweighting comes in, also.

I do it by counting threads... one of these days I'll corner balance. As far as alignments go, I cheat :) I set it at my daily driver height, get it aligned, lower it for the track/drift. The result is a good amount of neg camber that can be restored to regular alignment once I'm back at street height :)
