At the time, we both worked at an outsource sales company that required us to wear full business suits. My daily driver's rack and pinion decides to lose a few teeth or something and i end up taking the batmobile to work that day. So, after work at about 10pm we took turns giving our other coworkers rides around the parking lot, sliding around, doing donuts around trees and islands, etc.

we keep this up for a good 20 minutes until a chp officer on a bike flies into the parking lot with his lights on. nismoR123 stops the car but cant turn it off because the keys flew out of the ignition during a left turn. The cop starts doing the 20 question thing. i was standing in a group of about 10 people but started walking towards them as the cop asks who the owner of the vehicle was.

Cop: "You guys do know that there's a CHP station right down the street, right?"
Me: yeah.
Cop: Is there ANYTHING LEGAL on this car? what is THAT? (points to tail pipe)
Me: it has working tail lights, head lights and the tags are current.
Cop: even if this is private property, i can still give you tickets. what are you guys doing here? this car shouldnt be on the road. blah blah blah
Me: We just got out of work. My only other car broke down yesterday. Blah blah blah.
Cop: We tell these kids that its all fun until someone wraps the car around a tree and gets hurt blah blah blah.

long story short, we get off with a verbal warning. no hood pop. no tickets. no threats. thank you goodwill suits and dollar store ties.

How professional you look is directly correlated to how much you can get away with.
