I ran into this while looking for an alternative to doing coilovers with Z32 uprights.
Feeler - Custom Bilstein/GC set up for S14 - Nissan Road Racing Forums (http://nissanroadracing.com/showthread.php?t=1164)
He stated he used Bilstein Z32 shocks and mearly removed the 2" spacer (haven't got a clue what spacer he is talking about). This allowed the shocks to be used on and S14. Anyone else hear anything on this.
BTW, I am currently looking into R33 (AWD) Konis, but I am not sure I can get them at an un-overly inflated price.

Not sure on S14, but on my S13 track car I run that setup with JIC's, looks like this...

I believe on an S13 you can just run Z32 shocks. But on the S14 they are like 4" too short. IIRC

That's my old thread on there.
Unlike most people on that forum I was looking to build a suspension set up that would slam the car, have good valving, and run Z32 rear uprights. My thinking on the situation was I could already have the car a good 2-2.5 inches lower by running those shocks instead of S14 shocks, and I would have the full shock travel too.
I had Tim (Wiisass on NRR) spec out a custom valving for my car (I too some measurements for him and corner weighted the car). Bilstein did the actual valving an removal of the spacer (they charge 65 bucks a shock to "custom valve" them and they'll remove the spacer for that fee as well).
Basically if you run the Z32 rear shock with the spacer removed, and a 3000GT front shock in a chopped up/modified front strut housing you can dump the car very easily.
I'm not even sure what you're asking. I asked a shit ton of questions about this set up on NRR, I'm not sure if you tried searching on there or not. I never got the set up installed and sold it to a guy in NC who hasn't installed it yet either. I had to wait a good 6-8 months for the shocks to get valved and got laid off in that time period so I couldn't afford to do everything I wanted.
