SR MAF's messed up so I went and bought a KA24E MAF and was assured that it would plug right in even though I was a bit skeptical since I read otherwise online but I knew the guy had done several SR swaps before so I bought it anyways...

Long story short..

SR MAF / engine harness plug = 4 prongs
KA24E MAF = 3 prongs

KA24E MAF then obviously won't plug into the SR harness..

Am I gonna need the plug for the KA MAF too?

You read online that it would not work. A guy who did "several" SR swaps told you it would work.

SR MAF / engine harness plug = 4 prongs
KA24E MAF = 3 prongs

I'm going to say yes, but the success of this MAF swap would depend on other things as well.

i have sohc maf on my redtop SR, you have two options one is the correct the other is the "how not to", change the SR plug to the SOHC plug

from frsport.com
FOR SOHC MAF USERS, THE PINOUT IS AS FOLLOWS:

SOHC MAF PIN ---SR WIRE COLOR ---FUNCTION
A ---------------------Black / White------ +12V (Power)
B -----------------------Black -------------MAF Ground
C -----------------------White-------------- MAF Signal

the second option is taking the prongs or whatever you want to call them and remove them from the actual plug and just plug them into the maf... hold them down with some zipties or whatever you can rig up... my sohc plug was damaged and i have this right now... but it's a pain in the ass sometimes the damm wires come lose i just put a bunch of zipties in a way it would hold them down tightly so they don't come lose till i get a new plug or end up upgrading to a Z32 maf...

hope this helped
