Thats a nice giveaway / sponsor but the bad thing is the seats aren't FIA approved and you can get them on EBay or right here i believe in the group buy section with out the hassle and the rules they want you to follow . Like you can't display an of there competitors . To me thats just some bullshit i believe that company makes a number of parts besides seats .So i would think that means only there name can be on your car .Thats just my .02
Looks like straight up Bride copies...

-They're not on board with that JDM factor but I personally like them. Non FIA but im not going to enter FD anytime soon. Great for daily driving and hitting a couple local events. Available in tilt too. :)
Good luck to whoever has entered :)

I drive an S13 coupe, i'm not exactly fond of knock offs so sorry if I offended you. I'm sure for the purposes you stated the seats do the work just fine.

Ive seen stock car seats that go through this malfunction as well and those go through vigorous R&D.
There are no seats currently that have the tilt option and hold and FIA approval. Not even the big names such as Sparco, Recaro, Bride....etc.
So I would imagine your statement is directed towards all seats in general with no FIA stamp, not just the single Aero Designs line. Correct Gorilla Unit?

Cool, No offence taken at all bro. Im not fond of knock offs either. Most kids cant afford the high end names, so hopefully this is a good step in moving into the drift scene for them. What kind of seats do you run?

I love knock off seats. I was trying to find a cheap one!! But I couldnt find something that was reasonably priced. So I went to buy some from Hometown china hahaha
Btw, good to see someone supporting the Drifting community!! We need more people like you!

Ok this is what i dont get, the point of this is PROMOTION. Hey you got a 240/in the drift/racing scene/blah blah blah you will give them a nice set of brand new seats from your said company. YaY! new seats anyone would take a new set of seats right? Your just giving it to these guys to help in promoting your company and hoping to increase sales maybe for a sticker spot on a car, dont act like your non approved seats are gold and everyone needs these knock offs. To come in here and say that the ones that point out the hazards and the fine print about them are "very un-appreciative, ignorant people" is WRONG. Some people care about safety, some people care about authentic parts and some people care about the hard working creator of which this design was then stolen and copied from, Not just about making a buck or two.
Then you have the other guys in here talking about this "supporting the drift community" and blah blah blah. Im sorry but your seats have NOTHING to do with supporting the drift community directly to begin with, unless im missing something here and i find that hilarious. You dont need seats to drift, thats obvious LOL....

Its false, as I stated above. Stick with the subject before moving on. Please look through licensing and protocal for the FIA before replying to me about this subject again.
- I care about authentic parts as well. Thats all I rock, but now my mentality has changed due to the future of drifting. These products on a budget are a stepping stone in which people can take. Once they get better in skill, maybe they'll move on to a more high end name that suits their driving level. You should never shoot down a company for simply trying to supply a certain market ( A market thats on a budget)
What kind of motorsports do you do? AutoX or drift? Or something else?

from what i understand most of these so called copies , are actually the real thing just not stamped by the original designer
almost every company has a manufacturer in s.korea/taiwan/india, they produce a certain amount and assemble them some where else with there exclusive fabrics, so technikly the shells are all the same, hardware is what changes in most cases....
but going back to the topic
this type of promocion/advertisement has been proven, one recent good exaple is TOMS shoes, buy one they give one, great and dandy but your paying really high premium for a shoe that only cost 2 dollars to them because of the noble cause
i have a charge speed bucket and love it, i went around with a broken seat reclined gangsta style because the frame was cracked, back then if i had the possibilty to get free seats , i would of recomended the company , free, noble cause
just my thoughts on it

dude whats your problem? Of course its for promotion but your getting free gear. Remember when that company here gave away free coilovers, its no different, hell, everybody jumped on that shit cuz its coilovers oooh weeee. If your open minded, a cool person and a tasteful respect for tuning cars, you could come a far way with picking up free parts/sponserships etc.

Im gonna tell ya, your on Zilvia, it will sadly always be a pissing match about parts and not just getting it on the track for a good time.
good luck to the winner. ANY seat is better then a stock seat on the track. Being able to sit in your seat and use both legs and arms is very helpful :)

You can only re-design a seat SO many times, and honestly...how many seats are out there for purchase? THOUSANDS.
I know what it's like for a new company releasing products having to do promotions and giveaways just to get a name out. Despite the fact that the design and overall look is the same as X shouldn't really matter, because in the end, everyone will decide what they're going to purchase when it comes down to it. Some people may want the reclineable function of this current seat vs a fixed bucket. How many of you guys track with stock seats? I know TONS of guys who are pretty hardcore, yet they're still running stock busted up, ripped seats.
This is by far a great upgrade, especially seeing as how not everyone is going for pro. People just want to have fun, and I'm assuming with legality issues these seats ARE safe in action of a mild crash...Just like stock seats.
Fuck, if this "sponsorship" was available here in Canada I wouldn't hesitate to enter. You have to think about it...we're all here to support the sport(s), why not work together in the battle and help others out. Despite that this is a promotion for the company, they've still decided to release their seats to YOU, someone who may need it, someone who's worth giving a FREE seat to.
Just my 0.2
Not aimed to offend anyone, just how I look at it.
On a side note, the typography of that flyer bothers me *tear* "Big-est". I would be slapped by my professor had I design this before I received my degree lol.

So buying high quality brand name parts isnt supporting the drifting community? Guess Im doing it wrong then :-/. Im such a terrible person for giving my money to those Japanese .
No no, I'm not saying it like that. Obviously in many views a high quality brand name part is better however in many cases there can be high quality products made from a lower end company, just they've yet to be discovered.
You have to remember, all those big brand name companies started out just like any other company right? They all started with nothing and made something. Same thing goes for a new company. They need to make something for themselves and how they do it is essentially up to them.
In no way am I mocking big brand companies as I myself will most likely choose a known brand over another, but that's exactly it, a known brand who's proved themselves in quality and quantity. It's hard for a new company to become known and there are things they need to do to become noticed.
I didnt do it..lol... I understood it tho....its sooo big it wouldnt fit on the same line ha ha..
Lol, trust me there's always ways to make it fit! Haha.
If you need some designs in the future let me know. I run a media firm and we deal with designs/promotions of every sort! Both print and web so your flyer would be a piece of pie! We do oversea designs so don't let myself being in Canada scare you off as our prices are very very comparable.

Yes the same on the inside meaning these seats will most likely meat FIA (except the tilt models), So minus the EXPENSIVE FIA approval expense. Hence, saving the driver a big buck on cost.

So, you can only run these seats if you drift your car?
Seriously, this whole argument is stupid. Suggesting that you must upgrade your seats to drift is stupid. Arguing over no name brand seats is stupid. Suggesting that since an OEM seat can collapse in an accident that it's alright if an aftermarket seat does it too is stupid.
Finally, suggesting that everyone who owns a 240SX is into drifting and likes drifting is stupid. Plenty of us were around 15-20 years ago driving these cars and not drifting, and plenty of us still don't because it's a pointless 'sport', if you can call it that. I can't wait for the day when that label is finally dropped off this Earth, it was washed up before it even got popular, it's really soured now.

That's cool your seats are clean. You have 16's but you keep them clean right? Im happy for you.
There are a couple people who have more than 20k in JDM parts invested in their cars and they've still entered. What does that mean? It means your just hating. Don't hate someone who is trying to make a name for them selves and is doing more than you.
I do believe in Japanese products the same as you but I dont believe in using that excuse of "waiting for them" to justify your actions of having only "stock" seats. I also dont believe in looking down on people. Everyone has a right to choose which route they take and in how they decide to spend their money.

Well it fits the genre. Drift site giving away free seats for your drift car.
Get it now?
I know tons of people who were drifting then and are drifting now in their 40s. My friends that I drift with currently were sliding back in the early 80s when there weren't even any 240's. There were RX7s. You might call it pointless but your probably the guy that has his car in his garage that you never track. Thats pointless to me in my opinion. Drifting is a sport in which a test of you and your car. Somthing you might not understand. I guess this separates you from the drifting adrenaline junkie.

P.S. I just posted a link for any Zilvians who might be interested in FREE seats. So YOU may go ahead and contact AeroDesigns and express which of many concerns you might have.
So you are making personal attacks now. Sorry Im not a cool "drifter" with 18 sportmaxes and a beat to hell car. Why Norm entered that contest puzzles me since those seats are a BIG downgrade for his practically perfect car. Great job Aero Designs, keep on stealing Bride's designs, all the "drifters" love you :goyou:.

Before you put your foot in your mouth any further, know what the fuck you're talking about. I have tracked all three of my 240s heavily. Autocross for several seasons, track events at Road Atlanta and other local courses several times a year. I've even wasted a few evenings at the local dragstrip for fun. Being an 'adrenaline junkie' has nothing to do with being competitive in a driving sport, no matter what it is. Apparently there's more that you might not understand than I. Drifting is a test of skill, sure, but it's more a test of tire longevity and the wallet as far as I'm concerned because the majority of people who drift, especially the nut swinging crowd in here, totally suck at it. I'm sure you're one of those macho fucks who beats your chest when someone talks down about drifting so I'll go ahead and correct you, I don't like drifting because in my opinion it's completely fucking stupid, not because "I can't do it".

i dont think he really knocked drifting.
He stated he has some sort of respect for the skill it takes.
And his statement about the majority of people on here sucking at it but getting all macho about it is pretty close.
My only argument is that he is wrong about the amount of money wasted in drifting.
I feel that people actually running SCCA seasons and anything like that are spending much more money.
we buy knock off kits, coil overs, and welded diffs. Then about $250 for an event and tires.
Real track racing takes alot more money, otherwise i would be out there with racpar1 and others.
maybe its because i have been looking into all the GTclass guys lately. i was just on Neelymotorsports an hour ago. but those guys dont waste there time here, which means we are loosing alot of great Nissan knoledge :(

Your not going to get anywhere with that attitude Mr! :keke: I was talking about "drifting". Something in which you apparently dont understand since you've never stated it in your racing history. All motorsports involve the test of tire longevity not just drifting. Since you've stated your opinion about drifting ill state mine: Any one may throw in money into a car and go straight or autoX but not every one can drift.
I see. So drifting takes skill, where autocross and grip driving does not? Interesting. So anyone who enters an SCCA event, no matter their experience or their car, can compete at a high level? Cool. I'll tell my 67yr old neighbor to bring his Park Avenue out next season and win. That's about as narrow minded as your ongoing attempt to suggest that drifters are better than any other motorsport driver since they can drift. Sure pal. But wait, there's more.
I know tons of people who were drifting then and are drifting now in their 40s. My friends that I drift with currently were sliding back in the early 80s when there weren't even any 240's. Here you clearly state that I don't even track my car at all, I'm the guy that has it in a garage. And I wouldn't understand drifting since my car sits there and apparently rots away, which is pointless to you. But now that I've proven that isn't the case, and that I do compete (and have for far longer than you I'm sure) my competing isn't justified since it's not drifting. Because as you say, only drifting is a real motorsport, anything else is easy and non competitive in your mind.
So I tell you what, since you're a magician behind the wheel while you drift, why not go jump in an F1 car and make a million dollars driving it. It's obviously simple for you so why aren't you doing it? If I had those skills I certainly wouldn't be sitting on a forum trying to sell shitty products, I'd be out winning a race four times a year and buying houses in every country with the money.

i like how this went from seats to ppl not knowing how to drive?????Absolutely worthless thread, can mod plz close this before it gets outa hand. turning into a nut swinging mach for some ppl on here over nothing
gah this thread has went to shit.
I'm all for jdm parts on my car but seeing since pretty much all the main jdm brands as in HKS, GReddy, A’PEXi, Vision, Tomei, JUN, TODA, TEIN, RSR, HPI, SKUNK2RACING BRIDE, RECARO have there parts made in taiwan and multiple cases actually given an underground company the right to take there model design and resell it under theie own company like RS*R and invidia exhaust..invidia was a model of an RS*R exhaust but later discontinued and gave the factory in taiwan the right to start selling the design and use the model name "INVIDIA" as their company name so what now, all you jdm fanboys need to get the history of where these sweet JDM parts come from and what the company actually allows to happen and more companies have let certain designs go out the same way so maybe a certain bride seat you like has been sold out to a third party a company and you didnt know it or other brands have done something along that line.
sure bride is the Original product here and aero design copied the deisgn by the pattern in the material and maybe the deisgn of the seat and you all can hate all you want to but the seat isnt made out of paper and plastic and just some peice of shit seat that will never amount to nothing, its prolly a pretty good upgrade from your stock seats but you dont want anything replacing the JDM heritage that it all comes from but its a new era and JDM brands are not making the effort to meet the demand of the products in the US so that keaves room for the third parties to come in with there replica's more than likely made across the street in taiwan from where the real product is made and sell it here productivily.
If you know you are going to get brides then get brides and let the ones who dont know if they can get brides get what fits their needs/budget. Dont hate on every replica part you see because its not all ebay bullshit. Use common sense on whats a good part and whats not, after analyzing these seats, i cant find one bad comment/horror stories about them so in my opinion aerodesigns has made a pretty good replica..if you dont like it well then i hope you start to be more open minded about third party companies.

I like the fact that I am buying a product from a company that actually cares about what they are making, not one looking for a quick buck. The JDM brands dont bother with the US because people with the "walmart" mentality like yourself are just going to copy their products or run knock offs. You know that there are quality American brands too but like the JDM brands, they dont waste their time on cheap people.

Although I could have used the seat, my car isn't exactly a flag ship for any companies:cry:

Looks in context to me.
anyways, we can bump heads all day, Im don't really care.
I just call em like i see em.:2c:
BTW, I have a stock seat :)
Yeah but you made me seem super mean. Im a cool cat yo and I cant hate a fellow drifter anymore. Your on the same boat as me and I appreciate your help in pointing the motorsport into a certain direction with the 626 dudes.
Yes you have a stock seat but you dont hate on anyother seats.
May I add you also have a single slammer that you kill fools in? Your driving is legit and Ive seen you take out dudes that have SRs. Feels great doesnt it? Thats the difference between the drift motorsport and other sports, you can buy parts to make better track time but you cant buy parts to make a better drifter. A real drifter doesnt complain about parts they dont have in order to get the slide down. They get it done. No excuses.

You should have entered. You'll be surprised of the winner since actual drifting is taken into consideration for the winnings of the whole sponsorship package. Thats what the judges said.
-Bring your drift car, daily car, daily drifter, whatever. Come chill. Eat tacos. Enjoy live performances. Youll have a dope day and spend less than 20 bucks! :) Youll be surprised with the surprise winner at the end of the night other than the sponsorship winner that they'll be announcing.

No Brides are great, Sparco is great, Recaro, Momo, Aerodesigns.....etc. They are all great. I cant even count the seats Ive had anymore. I just dont understand how I can listen to someones opinion that has not ever tested what they call good quality vs low quality.
Have you ever been to any of the actual facilities that make our so called JDM parts? You'd be very surprised.
"Oh Im such a badass because Im a drifter" Pretty sure the factorys that make JDM parts go through rigerous quality control to make sure their parts come out perfect because the Japanese value quality.
Im not pushing anything Eric. Just a Joe that loves the slide. The accomplishment that I get when I link the twist and turns the roads give me is unlike anything other. The fact that I pushed a car to its extreme limits and came out alive is something unexplainable.
Its the drift community thats pushing itself. Im just along for the ride.
When you look at news articles from the past, people used to say a lot of garbage about Stock car racing 60 years ago but look at those million dollar contracts now ey? lol.
Wow dude, are you trying to get cast in the next F&F movie? You are delusional.

:keke: @ the badass drifter part. You state your "pretty sure" meaning you dont know as a fact. Your spelling of "factories" and "rigorous" make me doubt your experience in ever jumping into an actual factory or have ever seen any type of rigorous QC of any kind. Just my 2 cents.
- Just a fellow drifter speaking about the passion he experiences along with another drifter. Man I would love to be in a movie though..Especially in any type of Fast & Furious. Kind of sad buddies of mine at Dynamic Autosport made it in Tokyo drift but not me. Next time.
Remember, Dont hate: my 2 cents again.

You just dont get do you Toretto? Drifting isnt going to make you a multi millionare. Do you really think that professional drifters even the ones in Japan drift for a living? So if you are planning to quit your day job, dont. It wont ever be as big here as it is in Japan. Americas customs and attitudes just cant handle drifting. That is why Japan is where it is now and America cant keep up.

Looks like this has devolved into an argument...
Not to mention the fact that the dates have passed, rendering this thread less worth keeping open.
No need for this to remain open now, the last several days worth of posts in this thread supports this.
