this was a few weeks ago...

ever since i repaired my car at a certain shop, ive been having problems. it all started with a cracked radiator. i replaced it with a mishimoto unit, and all seemed fine until i was driving home and my temp started to fluctuate. it would be normal, jump up hella high then go cold and stay, and continue. it was driving fine so i thought no big deal, its just my thermostat. after a mile or two i noticed steam coming out from under my hood. FVCK.

after some searching i saw my upper radiator hose had an half inch crack in it and it was leaking coolant all over my engine, thus causing the steam. i replaced it, and after driving a mile down the road the temp guage started freaking out again. but this time it just maxed out high and stayed. as i was replacing the thermostat, a mechanic (i was parked at a J&M body shop) tested my thermostat and it apperantly works fine. shitty.

ordered up a new temperature sensor, went for a test drive. still the same problem of the temp. fluctuating.. when i get on it it stays cool, but let the rpm's drop or shift into neutral and it shoots up to max high.

so far i have replaced:
radiator, upper rad hose (old one leaked), tempature sensor, and thermostat.

headgasket...? seems to pull like normal however.

btw its a 1991 KA24DE.

any help will be appreciated.
thanks!

bleed it more.
elevate front end while bleeding
use bleeder screw(where upper radiator hose meets block)
then bleed it some more.

Same thing on my car. Overheated, blew a radiator hose, replaced hose, still overheating, bleed some, still over heating, bleed some more, finally I am good.

did all that.. bled it 3 times now. its not overheating, like i said its pulling like normal, the guage is flucatating from max high to low

could be a water pump going bad. That would have been my first repair from the behavior of the temp climbing and dropping. Good luck though.

Mine was doin that and come to find out it was just not bled all the way. Try pressure testing it just to make sure that there is no leaks.
