Yea his car runs well, only problems I had were some wires got loose and a leaking brake line but other than those small fixes it's perfect. I heard about Frankie doing the LS2. I picked up another LS1 RX7 caused I missed it so much, the 240 is now a show queen. I did a full widebody etc and it rarely sees the street.

We should do a photoshoot before you sell it :) at autotoyz or something.

It just depends on how bad you want it gone if you want it sold right now then you will slash the price to move merchandise if not then i guess hold on to it we know how bad of a market it is out there now and no one wants to spend i hope this tax season cures things.. I dont think the ls v8 swaps are the way to go if it cost that much its to expensive i think you would of been better off with a 2jz it would of been about 3.5k for the swap with mounts and 5speed trans.. Maybe little more..

I respect your opinion, but this is what I think.....

Getting 2jz swap for $3.5K is little on the lower side. maybe for the high mileage crappy engine, that may be possible.... even with that, $3.5K is really low price. even $4.5K is cheap. If I can get a quality 2jz swap done for $4.5K I would of have done it by now. A reputable shop up NorCal wanted $9K for a quality swap 2 years ago. Are you sure about $3.5K?

I finally manged to get a LS1 swap locally after months of research. Plus LS1 swap had little more advantage that suit my goal more than a 2jz did......like possible BAR certification(good luck with a 2jz in a 97 OBD2 S14.....), 6speed tranny, N/A reliability, weight distribution, convenience of parts availability at local shop, etc.... I think I made the right choice.

As far as "slash the price to move merchandise", how much is that? there are S14 on this forums selling for $6-8K and they are either stock or with ka-t/sr20 with very little mods. I know economy sucks balls..... but if someone really wants to buy my car, they will offer me my asking price. For the others that don't want to pay my price, there are many other s-chassis on this forum for them. I want to know your "slash the price" price.....let me know. thanks!!!

yes, i did get the swap done. i still think $4k is little cheap even with self wrenching the swap. there will always be misc parts that needs to be purchased in order for it to be reliable and that adds up (clutch, flywheel, fuel system, etc....). of course it may not be $8.5K like my LS1 swap but I know my swap was done right and clean. I don't think GETRAG will work either. but it would be nice to have one yeah? lol.

I will have to disagree on 2jz blasting faster..... I've seen some fast LSX swapped S14's out there as well as fast 2jz S14. it all depends on how well the car is built overall. anyway, thanks for the comment!!!

Your also forgetting many things that go into doing this swap. But if I list some you will probably say do it yourself or buy a 100 dollar intercooler on ebay. Now unless you have your own shop or are super good at eveything (wiring harness is what I'm thinking of) you will need help from others with labor, and fabricating parts. Labor adds up quick in the real world, along with all the misc 25, 50, and 75 dollar odds and ends you will be needing the price will be far from what your originally expected.

Come back when you respect what it takes to make a hybrid car, especially this very clean example, regardless if he did the swap or not.
