sounds like a bad ground. check your negative cables starting from the battery to the motor and frame

It could also be your fusible link

If you have a problem that the car starts but the alternator is not charging the battery then you need to check the wiring for the alternator. If it was the battery cables and grounds the car would not start. A few people have been complaining recently that the end has come off of the wire on the alternator.

I would clean the posts and connections. Check for frayed or loose connections to and from alternator. Resistance can be a b!tch yo. How much was it putting out? How much should it be putting out? Ask yourself questions like this and try to find the best possible answer. Have you checked the electrolyte level or load tested the battery? Need some more help just ask.;)

I had the exact same problem and it was the fusible link its something that only takes a minute to check. But yea it could be the battery also I say check the asy stuff first then work your way up.

thats funny because i was having a problem with my alternator just last week. the car began to be a pain to start and after probably a week the thing would barely crank over. i thought it was the battery so i took it a Tire & Battery shop and they tested and said battery was fine, but my alternator was going bad. as soon as they tested everything and cleaned my terminals (which i had done just a month ago  ), the car started perfect. that was last week and i haven't had any problems since. just something to think about..
