Best water pump for S13 SR20DET?

I've heard some places the S14 SR water pump is an upgrade for the S13 SR. Others say they are different and not interchangable.

1. Can an S14 SR water pump be put on a redtop S13 SR?

2. Is it an upgrade? What specifically does it have that is improved(housing geometry, impeller, etc)?

if your over heating make shrouds for your rad set up and get a oem rad fan set up with oem shroud.

Yes. The S14 will have an extra bolt hole that doesn't get used on the S13. Otherwise the physical dimensions are identical.

Yes. The flow rate is better. The impeller is slightly different.

Now keep in mind I haven't actually measured the flow rate myself so take what I say with a grain of salt.

If you want the BEST water pump go with the JUN one

If you want the best cheaper water pump go with an OEM Nissan S13 one and get a good water pump pulley. Yashio factory is amazing so is the stance one and Kogauku racing one.

Short answer - S14 SR pump in an S13 SR block = bad due to different block shapes where the water pump bolts on

I already have a ~8% underdriven water pump pulley, so no worries there.

S13 OEM pump it is for me then.
