300ZX Turbo Gears in a 240SX

Anyone know if the rear ring and pinion final gear is compatible from the 300ZX R230? to the 240SX R200? I want the lower gear ratio for my car but don't want to spend $500 from courtesy nissan.

No.

The # after the R indicates the diameter of the ring gear in mm. The 230mm ring gear won't fit.

I'd look into grabbing the ring and pinion from a Z31 Turbo's R200. I think that ratio is 3.545:1.

Back from the deadly...but I need something around a 3.5 final drive ratio and can't find any solid info on whether or not the R&P from a Z31 will indeed work.

Can anyone confirm this for certain?

Yes. Make sure you check how the gears mesh and reshim if needed (which it most likely will). Inspect all bearings and such also.
