Okay I have a few questions. Me and a friend did some troubleshooting, then decided to post. Anyway

Two weeks ago, me and a friend decide to race since he got a new ECU. We line up on a very deserted road and do the little count or whatever. Anyway I look at my guage cluster and my temp guage is off the scale!!! Now I have smoke coming from everywhere. We pop the hood and coolant is squirting everywhere. I make it home. Add coolant a few days later. Shoot to monday and I overheat. Coolant is everywhere. Car just shuts down. I had smoke coming in the cabin from the shift area and the engine bay and the tailpipe. Get towed. Try to start the car like an hour later...it runs

Shoot to today. I drive my car to work yesterday. Runs good. No problems. Today I drive to work. Car starts fine. Shuts down 5 mins later on the way to work. It cranks, but wont start. All accessories work. Anyway A few hours later I get a ride to my car and it starts after a few tries. Breaks down on the way home. Try again. Starts. and I make it home. I revved my engine and all kinds of smoke came out the exhaust. I was thinking since I overheated..maybe my head gasket went, but I want to get outside opinions. Sorry for the long post, but any help/suggestions/ideas as to what could be wrong would be appreciated

coolant everywhere... been a few years since I popped a headgasket but iirc the coolant goes IN the engine. check your radiator hoses water pump and headgasket. all likely suspects. but for gods sake quit driving it till you figure it out. or instead of repair youll have to replace. the engine.

I had someone tell me I just need a thermostat. They said it may not be opening, so my coolant has nowhere to go..thus the leak. We are trying that today after work. I got a newer radiator just in case too. And the only reason I still drive it is because it is a KA. I could care less. I am just saving money to get an RB. Plus I have a DOHC sitting in my garage that I lost interest to swap, but could if I got desperate enough. thanks for the suggestions. I would rather not get into headwork. I am still trying to get the head off the DOHC sitting in my garage. Some of those bolts are a pain in the ***. So if it IS a HG, I'll just park my 240 until it is RB time
