i dont know how the o2 sensor got burnt, since this o2 sensor was install like 4 months ago. this past month i notice the car acting up with no power, idle nasty and sluggish accelaration. so i pulled out the o2 sensor,
any ideas how it got all burnt/ white ash marks and carbon, the lil metal holes are slightly larger than the other ones around. my point, since some a-holes cant see it, is that why did it burnt out so quick? maby a cheap o2 sensor?

good question, well i do remember installing it like four months ago. kinda quick no? and even so some ka's ive seen run with weak o2 sensors or worn out and they dont make my car act like mine did, this particular sensor rattles and it seems like its been through hell, it has a melted look.

Isn't your mother already a whore before he came here? :axe:
Just replace the O2 sensor. Then try again.

Now, I know my Spanglish is a little off at times, since I NEVER have to speak it in my house or work.
I really wonder why I was made to take it in school, it does nothing for me in the real world.
But...
What was the point of this? What did his mother do to you?
Have a month on me.

Well if your O2 sensor looks burnt, it's prolly because hot exhaust gases pass by it at an alarming rate. The blackness is just exhaust gas blow-by, not a bad looking sensor to me. As for your reasoning as to why it's bad... did you run a diagnostic test on the sensor? If not, do that first to see if it is really bad, looks can be deceiving.
Your car is prolly running poorly due to some other factors, the O2 will just be a victim to faulty components eventually (running rich).

Unplug O2 sensor electrical connection. Does car run better with o2 sensor disconnected?

There may be several reasons why your O2 sensor failed prematurely. They could be due to a faulty fuel pressure regulator, or a bad engine coolant temperature sensor, leading to excess fuel being dumped into your combustion chamber / exhaust. Or it could be due to a slight head gasket / coolant leak coating the O2 sensor. Or could be due to your EGR system not functioning properly causing hot exhaust gasses into the exhaust. Or even due to your ignition timing being slightly off.
Any of these causes could be the reason for your O2 sensor failing. The only way you'll be able to find the cause to your problem is to check all of the above aforementioned items & see if any of these items are the cause to your problem. It also helps to check your ECU to see any of the sensors are kicking a Diagnostic Trouble Code
If you don't already own a Factory Service Manual for your particular model year car, you might want to download a FSM from here & use it to your advantage.
Anyhow, hope this helps.....
