Squeaky Steering...help?

For some reason my steering squeals loudly when turning...i took a look today but i cant tell exactly where its coming from, somewhere by the wheels (93 coupe w/ power steering).

My power steering fluid was very low...i filled that to spec but it hasnt helped. i didnt see anything that could be rubbing.


edit: The wheel isnt (and never was) any harder to turn...it just makes this sound.

OMG! haha same exact thing here, just today. I had low PS fluid, but it turns out my tie rod end is done for. Can't hear it when turning from a roll (or I just haven't noticed) but if you sit still and turn the wheel it creaks rather loudly from the right side. I was also experiencing wheel shimmy while turning right (mostly) and sometimes driving straight at highway speed. If it's not the tie rod, you might have a shot front control arm bushing. From my somewhat limited knowledge, I would guess one of those two.

DEXRON III ATF is what Nissan uses for power steering fluid. Do NOT use regular PS fluid, as it can cause damage to your PS system. If you're having to refill your PS reservior, that means you have a substantial leak, and need to closely examine your entire PS system and fix it.

Take off your front wheels, spay some WD40 on the tie rod ends, if the sqeeks are gone, then its ur tie rod bushings or whatever. I got the same problem, I just spray it down with wd40 for now, Im gonna replace with full Tein hard tie rods soon.
