Honda just released this picture of their 2010 SuperGT entry. The Honda HSV-10 GT will replace the Honda NSX and is powered by a 3.4 liter V8 with more than 500bhp. It will debut at the SuperGT opener on the 20th of March, but I'm sure there will be more info released by Honda before that. This shot already looks promising, and I'm just glad Honda continues their efforts in the SuperGT Series.

Nope. They scrapped both of those concepts for the next NSX. Both were poorly received.

Looks like their going the same route as Toyota. Testing a cobbled together prototype in racing conditions before showing anyone the production car.

I lol'd when like 6 months ago when Honda said they were confident that the next NSX would out perform the GTR. I'm still lol'ing. :keke:

If it comes out as a street production car, it's probably going to be really ugly. I think it's the really wide factor of the car thats making it look so good. Just try to picture it slimmer lol, it would almost be like a longer weird looking lotus.

The only way I see that happening is if this thing has massive amounts of grip. I'm confident Honda can make a car with good balance and dynamics. I would also assume that the engine is detuned from it's true potential, so the street version could very well have more power than the Super GT car.

I will be watching this car very closely. It gets me exited to watch SuperGT again.

Yeah for a 5 year old GT car, the NSX SuperGT is still performing.... It got like 2nd this season right?

You can watch all the races on YouTube... At least full super lap sessions GT300 and SuperGT... You can also watch race highlights of all the races in HD....

Look for user PM910... that guy is awesome!!!!

Personally though.... Look at the LF-A it looks super close to what it looks like on the street...

Doesn't look mid-engine to me, and for that, Honda fails.

The NSX "successor" will never be a true successor if it has an engine in the front, and especially if it's AWD.

I think what is important about the NSX is the same as the current GTR. That is, to out perform "Super/Exotic" cars that cost many times more. The legacy of the NSX is that it forced the Italians to up their game in true, long term build quality. I think that if the new Honda halo car can match that it will be a success.

I think the reason it is front engine is to compete in GT racing. It is the same reason the GTR races in RWD only format in most racing bodies.

It is surprising that it shares so much visually with the old car though. That engine has to be crammed in there to fit under that short, sloping hood.

honda has received an exemption so that they do not have to build any production cars in order for this gt to be allowed to race.

i don't think honda has room in their lineup for an "exotic" or a "supercar".
even if the economy does pick up, i can't see them investing heavily in it.

I like that a lot.

F1 is crazy and the drivers are no doubt the most talented drivers in the world, but the cars are just so damn boring these days.

It's like every decade except our own had awesome F1 cars, and this one... didn't.

SuperGT winners don't make anything.... Trust me people do it to get press... There are a lot of kids who attend this too as well, so its really pure marketing and pushing R&D.

THere are a LOT of Sponsors actually, HIS travel, Autobacs, Advan, Petronas, etc etc... A lot of sponsors, but really its not even close to the R&D...

especially with the s2k going out of production, their lineup will be completely devoid of any read sports car. afaik they don't even have an s2k replacement in the works at all. sad....
