Can anyone tell me how I can get my center HVAC vent off the dashboard?

I imagine just pop it off with a screwdriver but I want to be sure.. Im putting a gauge cluster in there

Snap off the nifty grifty bezel, the climate control unit is held in by four screws. Remove the screws, slide it out as far as you can, and find a way to liberate it from the heater cable/plastic/whatevah thingy.

Wouldn't be too difficult if it weren't for the heater control attached to the back. Anybody have hints for removing that piece?

heater controls attached to the back..of the vent??!

If you're talking about the actual vent itself, that's just held in by a few "pawl's" as shown in the nissan FSM.

thanks very much for the pic, super appreciated. I dont have the FSM unfortunately.

I dont know that I need to remove the whole vent or not. Im more concerned with the cover... does anyone know if theyre all one piece? Or how to pull it out?


Misnomer, did you mean to remove the climate controls and try to get at the upper middle vent from in where the controls are?
