How slow th 2f2f cars really are

I'm sure most have seen the new SCC already, but in it they tested some of the cars from 2f2f.

As u know they have a lot of multiples of cars, so they took what looked to be the fastest cars to California speedway and ran a number of tests.
Here are the numbers

'93 Supra (Single Turbo)
14.5 @ 94

'99 R34 GTR
14.1 @ 101

'02 EVO VII
15.3 @ 88

'93 RX7
14.6 @ 93.8

'00 S2000
13.9 @ 99.3

'69 Camaro
13.7 @ 107

Now for all those cars they have succesfully gotten slower than most stock times. With mods bieng exhaust and intake, and single turbo for Supra, and s/c for S2K.

I guess all that crap in the inerior and the 19" rims really do slow you down, but by this much?

The cars although don't look as bad as they do in the commercials, maybe its cuz the lights and flame throwers were'nt on :rolleyes:

I'd be happy if my car comes close to any of those numbers...

But they are slower because they need to turn on the neon lights, even during daytime..
vtec sticker adds ~ 5hp, type r ~ 10hp, but neon lights.. whoa..

wow, they took a modified FD, added some crazy, aesthetic items, and now the car runs times that a stock FD can run. i am dumbfounded...

this R34 was formerly the Blackbird R34 GTR wasn't it? a stock R34 GTR runs 13.7 @ 103.5 (according to R&T). the Blackbird was modified to a higher engine output range. now, post 2F2F, it runs times slower than stock?!? there are no words that can express what i am thinking. oh wait, i know! Craigs blue R34 wiht the signal banner and APC stickers is the blackbird..i dont think the R34 in the movie is the blackbird.

iirc, he has an *imitation* Signal Auto banner. also, i thought the 2F2F production used his car for this movie. either way, most of the cars in this movie are slower than they potentially are. hell, the Evo8 stock runs mid-14. Motortrend actually got the car into 13's. i don't understand how they made these cars SLOWER!!!

eh, n/m. i'm just jealous cuz they have extravagant amounts of money to do whatever the hell they want, while i'm still waiting for the insurance company to send me the money to fix my car. :mad:

nope different car.. they also made this one strictly Rear wheel Drive. it'll NEVER get out of the hole as fast as a regular GTR so theres a big part of the 1/4 times.

but yeah read the lover/haters/me

yeah I love how not a SINGLE nitrous bottle was actually hooked up in ANY car. yet they say steps were taken to eliminate technical inaccuracies... yeah that explains the nos stickers on the horn buttons on the pink S2000 steering wheel... :) but hey. im definatley going to go see the movie,
what most dont realize is how we try and find every error in this movie, and we do this bc we know alot (some do) about the genre
being prior military i say the same about some movies like "thats rediculos" "thats not the way it would be" my parents do it all the time being at Langley, its annoying.
this movies sole purpose is for entertainment, and it will be just that!
yes every car in there is as we say "riced out" with "nos" wgaf!

for the times they seem bs, 80% of those listed should be at least .5-1 secong below reported

the movie is gonna make bank, bring out more enforcement, and release the dam of cars with autozone accesories, but oh well, theres nothin we can do

no, after Craig the asshat put a FAKE signal banner on the car, he repainted it AGAIN, and it is used in the movie. not sure if the tested one is THE blackbird, but one of the 4 or so GT-Rs used in the filming is, excuse me, WAS the blackbird.

um, no :rolleyes: the same guys doing the testing are the ones who got a sub-4-second run in the Blackbird a few years ago and did a 3.8-something in the wet with a 1G GSX...

For the movie, there are lots of multiples. I would hope that Craig didn't use the actual Blackbird in the movie, maybe just for sound. I also am pretty sure the Blackbird is now Blue, not the silver that the car in the movie is.

I also do agree this movie is gonna make money, mainly cuz almost every enthusiast, regardless of thier opinions toward the cars in the movies, will go see it. For FnF domestic owners who hate imports still went to see it, and so did every import enthusiast, and so did females.

They did a good job getting people to come, they have basically something that everyone will love, girls will love Tyrese, and Paul Walker, guys will go to either boo the cars on the screen, or to adore the cars they want, kids will go for action.

you have you realize they had multiple replicas of each cars. Under each hood of a car they were tagged with 1,2,3 etc.
Reason why is because each replica was built for a certain purpose: i.e the stunt guy, too look good for the camera, etc, and the crash car.


Even though everyone doesn't like what has happened to all these cars we'll still see the movie. I'll watch any car movie.
