what is the purpose of this hose? is it for emissions or something?
its on the stock intake connected to a smaller box on the right. it broke (you can kinda see it on the right). is this a priority to replace? car still runs so im not sure.

I can't remember the correct name for it, but it is a smog pump effectively. The difference is that this one affects nothing if it isn't there. I removed mine completely a few years ago and my engine has passed smog at least twice since then...

I bought my car with the little box disconnected, still passed smog. It isn't really important. I believe Nissan did not put that component in S14's because it was more problematic than usefull.

oh, perfect!
i started second guessing its importance after i drove for a bit cause my fuel gauge stopped working! but that must just be a coincidence heh. yet another thing to fix now (fuel gauge, not this hose)
so is it advisable to try and block off the open holes with something?

If you want to, I didnt block it off and the car ran fine and had no problem passing smog.
