Just because i have a ka and its automatic doesnt mean you cant help.I dont know if this is the right section or not, but i want to remove my cruise control cable since i have an aftermarket steering wheel. There is only one post of this. If someone says theres more than one, show me it because i dont believe it.

I don't know what you want.
To remove the cruise control cable from the throttle, pull the thottle back with your hand. Look at the tension on the cruise wire. You can pretty much pluck the wire out.
Then you can unbolt the wire from the bracket and take out the whole actuator and control unit.
The cruise is a separate unit and will not trigger a CEL.

its common sense dude, un bolt and remove it if you want... i would much rather have cruise than a fancy ass wheel dude... just my opinion, expecially if the car is an auto...

Just leave it. I have a feeling you're going to break something. Having the cruise hardware intact without a cruise button won't affect world peace.

I'm thinking he means the spiral cable on the column. Absolutely shitty, ignorant wording, but nothing else makes sense if he got a new steering wheel.
So, OP, or shall we call you fucking idiot, remove the spiral cable completely. Why would you think a CEL would trigger if the airbag system was disabled? That's the stupidest fucking thing I've read in a while, and seriously, there's a lot of stupid shit on here daily.

Because since my airbags were disabled since i bought the car, It HAS infact triggered the airbag light. I had the ecu looked at and it said that the airbags were disabled and it had a code or something. Thats what the mechanic was telling me. I just pulled out the light for it. I want to get rid of the cruise control cable and put the the new pulley on that doesnt require it.

The only thing i have ever done was a turbo and fmic and coilovers. The coilovers I did have help, but not the turbo and fmic.Ive had the car for a year with the turbo kit and coilovers and had no problems whatsoever. I just havent donte anything like cruise control removal or anything like that. I havent really figured out until now if i want to remove it or not

Wait........what?
The fuck are you talking about? You pulled out your check engine light, but your worried about triggering it to come on? huh?
You were already told how to do it. Now stfu and go do it. You must be an idiot if you couldn't figure it out on your own.
Automatic drift 240 with a driver who can't remove a cable and a box with 4 bolts holding it down...........RIGHT!
What you want to do is completely useless. Does it really bother you THAT much that it is still there? Fuck i'd be more bothered by the fact it is a slow ass automatic.

The ECU has nothing to do with the airbags. Two completely different systems. That's like saying you replaced a light bulb and now you have an unbalanced wheel.
Get your facts straight before you continue to look like a jackass.

Why are you coming on a forum just to defend your ghey lover?
We like to keep this forum up to spec. Lazy, stupid, and ignorant people get flamed so they either straighten up or leave. If you don't agree with that, you can hit the road too.
