:bash: I hooked a gauge up and cranked and get no oil pressure. We already fixed oil pan, pickup was fine, no cracks or bends. Do I haveto crank alot for itto start reading? Actually it sucked oil in instead of bowin out,so its goin backwards?? huh? Its a s14 sr20det if that matters.

Check the seal between the pickup and the pump...

You said you hooked a mechanical gauge correct?

It does take a bit to prime the motor to read oil pressure from the filter area. Does the engine run itself, or is it a new build? If the engine previously ran, I would turn it on to see what it reads.

its not goona build alot of oilpressure if the motor isnt running, crank it up(start motor) and see if it builds it...

my mechanical gauge doesn't read until about 2 seconds after its started, gotta give it time to get from the sender area where it's t'd off to the gauge...fire it up and see what happens, if you dont get any pressure then go back to the drawing board.
