View Full Version : turbo and manifold bolt wont go on

i posted earlier, i discoverd the bolt on the turbo/manifold is missing on one side, thats why the gap, not a gasket as i see rite now. it seems easy right, put on a bolt, but there is a metal clip that goes around one side of the bolt and prevents it from turning. imagine a bolt and then on the right side a metal clip so the bolt cannot turn. I am wondering if anyone knows of a technique to use in order to tighten a bolt, because mine is completely off, i got new ones, but i cant get them on !!!

part 14432 going onto part 14440a where those 2 go to the turbo flange and the exhaust manifold

im wondering how your tightening these bolts, im going to have to take the whole turbo.manifold out

if I'm what your talking about is what I'm thinking then all you have to do is bend the metal clip outa the way tighten the bolt and bend the clip back.

yeah thats exactly what i was thinking, flathead screwdriver should do the trick or a pair or needle nose

fricken clip wont bend, its so small i cant get a hold of it to bend, already tried it...any ideas? try heating it first maybe ? iono ?!?

what are you using to bend it, turning on your car will heat it up plenty, dont think that will work though
