So what about it. Do you think the back window on the S13 Hatch or even coupe, preferably hatch, can be lexan'd or Persplex or the like. In my opinion this would be a huge weight loss in the place where it would be good to lose some. The rear hatch on the S13 has to weigh a ton, at least it feels like it.

Any idea if this can be done??
Anyone have prior expierence with any of these materials?
Just how much does the rear hatch piece weigh?

Please exscuse my spelling and english, it is horrible. I know. :o

Any help would be greatly appricieated.

I'm sure it will be lighter, but by how much I do not know. I'm sorry I can't help you there but I do believe that you could locate information on weight comparisons for different materials on the web somewhere. I also do recall that home depot sells lexan sheets, so you might be able to get an idea of pricing by giving them a call.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but doesn't lexan scratch like the dickens? To me, that would be it's biggest downside.

check nico forums. There was a member a few days that talked to the manufacture of a LExi window company. Theyre in the process i believe to make the windows for 240sx.

I would guess the hatch weighs about 40 lbs. I put a new one on this weekend. Probably could save 10-15 lbs with lexan.
