is this possible with an adapter plate?

yes its possible if you weld on a turbo flange.. weld on an external wastegate flange while you're at it.

okay why isn't everyone making adapter plates its cheaper then a $500 dolla manifold.

have u guys not seen this site?www.homemadeturbo.com (http://www.homemadeturbo.com) they do it on all their turbo projects. looks nifty

You are talking about slapping a turbo at the end of the factory header? I'm sure it's probably possible, but it is a long way from the exhaust ports to the catalytic converter, lots of piping for your air to travel through, lots of lag. Another thing to consider is whether or not there is even room to put a turbo at the end of the 240's header.

. . .Perhaps that is why not everybody is slapping on an adapter plate. I can imagine it would be possible on cars where the catalytic converter is closer to the engine, but I honestly can't picture it happenin on a 240sx.

If you want to try this you may want to take a look at the Altima manifold. It's manifold is "shorter" than the 240's. Flip it upside down and it may work.
My friend has made OEM manifolds work on two of his honda turbo projects. He made an 02 Civic manifold work and one off of a late 90's Accord.

But, will the Altima's manifold bolt up without modification? There are enough differences between the different KAs used in the 240 to prevent this. Anyhow, it's an interesting idea, but tough to figure how feasible it will be, or if it would be worth trying over a more typical turbo manifold.

i would just make a log style manifold then go throgh all that. http://psijunkies.com/turbomanifold

what it looks like at the end. i do not own this anymore.
