Just broke my intake cam today...
:trogdor: (dunno why I put that there but thats bad ass!!)
Since now im in the market for new cams....I have a couple questions.
1. am I correct that no more than a 256 duration cam will fit on stock internals?
2. Can I just upgrade my intake cam to a 256 and still run the stock exhaust camshaft with a 240 duration and not destroy things?
3. Does anybody have oem or upgraded cams for a s13 sr20 redtop they want to sell or trade... i have pretty precious things!

Yes,
you don't want the stagger to be too big of a difference.
I got off the rule of no more than 12 MM difference max for decent start up and drive-ability.
Make sure you know the reasons behind why you're staggering in the first place. Most of the time there is no reason to do so. You are better off just using 264 intake and exhaust with conservative lift

Thanks for all the advise guys... As far as staggering goes I really don't want to stagger at all. The only reason I am suggesting it is because I dont want to spend a lot of money on oem cams when I plan on upgrading both cams as soon as the bread is right..... Thats why I thought to myself well since the intake cam is broke, could I upgrade the intake cam only for now and safely drive it around untill the money for the exhaust cam came in?

Most would say that I dropped it..... I claim that the Ford gods forced it outta my hands cause they were mad at the Nissan gods for coming up with much better cars so the cam broke as a causality of the car god wars.... lol

Hey,
I have an extra set of stock cams if you want em. Not sure if they're S13 or S14 KADE cams though. They came off the engine I bought a while back. Unfortunately I don't really know how to differenciate the two sets. Since the engine came without a valve cover or manifolds, I'm lost.
Someone know?
Either way, PM me if you want them. 50 bucks shipped and they're yours.

Do you have both exhaust and intake, can I use these on stock internals, would this be ok with the stock exhaust cam, (i know someone above said its a bitch to start. Would an adjustable cam gear be able to compensate?

What are the most aggressive cams you think you could run in a stock s13 sr head?
