I can feel the eyes of other drivers at stoplights.... looking at my 240 shake (not vibrate) shake... side to side when stopped.
Anyone who recommends new Nismo motor mounts will be shot:D

Mine did when something was messed up and it was running super rich.

Hard motor mounts will only make it shake MORE :D

Yeah, most likely you're feeling misfire. Read your plugs to see how it's running (lean / rich). Btw, did you change your plugs recently or do any work to the car?

check to see if your spark plugs are loose.

mine has done that to me twice before, usually when its very cold or very humid.

Heres what I did, its not for everyone so do it at your own risk although I havent had problems at all

-take out your sparkplugs and check the gap. While your in there, clean the electrodes with a wire brush or sandpaper, and a little brake cleaner to get the greese off if there is any. This alone may not fix the problem, its more diagnostic than anything if you can "read" the sparkplugs as mentioned above. Make sure the gap is alright too.

-remove the wires, completely. Check for cracks in the insulation, but spray some WD40 onto the connections at the plug and at the cap too.

-remove the cap from the rotor and spray WD40 on the connections in there.

put everything back together (let it air-dry a bit first)

my S13 has low miles and its been fixed of its sometimes very rough idle from this technique twice.

good luck

Mine does that from time to time on startup, usually after I let off the starter too early (I think I may have flooded a cylinder when it does that). But it always seems to clear up. The KA is naturally a pretty shaky motor, if it's worse than you've noticed before, you may want to check things like your spark plugs and wires, check air/fuel mixture, etc.

Sounds like it's time for some new Nismo motor mounts :P

The engine mounts sound like a prime culprit. They normally have but two purposes besides being dangerous if they are broken sometimes causing involuntary acceleration, and even the jamming of the throttle in the open position which can lead to that kind of acceleration.
1) To help insulate the rest of the car from the engine's shaking and vibrations.

2) And most importantly, they position the engine and hold it in its proper place in the engine compartment so that it won't shift around, such as your case, causing the car to shake sometimes violently.

There is an easy diagnostic test to tell if you need motor mounts, which will require some assistance. The assistant will sit in the driver's seat with the engine running and the parking brake applied. They will depress the brake pedal and, at the same time, put the car in drive and give it some gas.

Next, you watch the engine compartment from the side. The engine will want to turn in the opposite direction. If the engine twists and lifts up by more than a couple of inches, the mounts are really broken. To check the mounts on the other side of the engine you perform the above steps with the transmission in reverse

Also, if you locate the mounts, they are easy to visually detect. The polyeurethane looks cracked.

mine did. and at idle it sounded like a old v8 idling low as hell, but once it got going it sounded jap again  then i saw a crack in the gasket between the intake manifold and the head, opened it up and that gasked was really messed up, chunks missing and stuff. so its getting replaced right now but i ****ed up the little rubber ring on an injector and cant buy a new one till tomorrow:mad:
