my dad just bought a 90 nissan pickup E king cab tonight. It's a 5 speed with a KA24E and 200k+ miles, but it's still running REALLY well. No leaks or anything. The cool thing about it was it only cost $400 bucks!! That's less than a catback exhaust. Maybe i should stop modding my car and buy a whole fleet of old Nissan trucks!! :p He pretty much gave it to my dad for free. It's kinda cool having a truck. I'm going to clean it up tomorrow. Sooo what r some things i can do to this truck to get a little cheap horsepower and make it more fun to drive? Any ideas? SR20 swap? Haha syke! Anybody know anything about swapping a KA24DE into this? Just an idea.

sr20 swap actually would be pretty cool. i saw a pickup w/ it on heavythrottles webiste... i thought it was cool, and a sleeper too.

ha. I got a 90 nissan pickup to. I cant blow that thing up. It has 220 k. I have took that thing on gravel roads and rally'd the hell out of it, drifted in the snow/rain. Never missed a beat. It is not burnig any kinda of fluid. I guess thats what I get for changing the oil every 3k. I did make a custm "ram air" intake for it. Like 10 hp gain. The KA24E is suprisingly strong. The only things that have been replaced are starter, clutch, clutch slave cylander. It has never broke down. Im gonna stop before I make a novel on my truck.

Wow 220k, i'm almost there. it has 210k miles I think and it still runs STRONG!! So far I washed and used a clay bar on the outside (it really made a BIG difference), changed the spark plugs, oil, and steam cleaned the inside. After I get another drivers seat (the back rest leans to the right) and a steering wheel (its all floppy), it'll be all gooooooood..:)

open. I dont know if LSD was a option or not. Mine has no options. Its a 5 speed with no tach. It has the marks and a place for it. Just no needle. Cheap basterds!

I'm not sure tach was offered as an option. I know what you're talking about, but I've never seen a tach in that place (in working at a Nissan dealership's service dept, where'd i'd see one or 2 of these trucks/day)

mine has a tach in it and it works and everything. It has manual windows, manual mirrors.. im not sure what trims were available, but in the owner's manual it mentions LSD, but I couldnt find out if mine was equipped with it or not.

Oh and I got those cute little benches in the back that fold down so you can sit down laterally. And you thought 240s had sucky backseats:rolleyes:

If he lets me have it someday...one day... then I might have a nice little beater truck so I can swap a turbo engine in the 240. Just daydreaming dont mind me..

WOW, I wish I could find a pick-up for $400. does it have a/c? I would defiantley snatch one of those up since my daily beater is the biggest piece-o-crap on wheels....I'm gonna have to post pics of that thing someday. I'm sure I'll get some laughs!

I have a '91 truck..rwd with the KA24E. I only have 160k miles and it still runs great. Sounds just like yours.. manual mirrors, windows and locks. Great beater winter car. :)

Funny thing is, even though you sit sideways, there's still more room than the back of a 240, lol. I definately envy you on the buy though. I've been looking for a truck as a second vehicle, but I want a 4WD to go off the beaten path with :).

TheTimanator - yea it has AC and it works perfectly. Much better than my 240, but all I need is a freon charge.

The reason we got it so cheap was because we're really close to our neighbor who owns the truck and he just wanted to get rid of it. First he said he's selling it for a thousand, so my dad was gonna ask around if any of my uncles wanted it. After about 2 weeks, he said he'll let it go for 500 and then just said he'll give it to my dad for 400 or he will donate it. My dad shouldve waited 2 more weeks.. maybe he'd get it for $300 :p haha syke yea right.

Anyone know if the pathfinder seats are the same as the pickup? The driver's seat is bent and the right side is leaning to the right.
