^ yeah but that gets in the way of shifting...
your best bet is to find one that hangs off the vents...
goto autozone, or pepboys...

If the ashtray trick is to much for you, keep enough trash in the elbow rest that when you put the drink in there it doesn't flop around. Either way though it gets in the way of shifting alittle, but you shouldn't be flying around anyway with a drink in the car.

I have one made by "FIZZ." It's jDm tYtE y0!
Seriously. Got it @ JapanTown. Comes with a flip-up adapter for enegry drinks. Holds stuff even when I'm speeding through the twistes. Works pretty good. I have it on the dash right above the center console. Sticks on with a very strong adhesive.
I like it. Cost me ten bucks.

i forget it's brand. some japan one i got at the local japanese mall. works great, no problems. BUT it only holds soda cans (no bottles) and small/medium drinks frmo fast restaraunts like wendys, in and out, carl's jr..etc etc..
if its larger then medium, i'll use the remove ash tray and put it there.
next to it (clear) is the cell phone holder. recaro. got it in Hong Kong

Is it so hard to just drink from a resealable bottle? I just get like a 16oz pepsi or a big water bottle I know I'll be thirsty on a long drive and toss it in the passenger seat next to the CD wallet, or in the back seat.
My neighbor's dad who used to drive us to school would hold a full mug of coffee in his right hand for the entire drive (though he rarely seemed to drink from it) without spilling any of it. Of course it was a slowtomatic bonneville or buick.
