Ok, here's the story..
Was at a stop light behind a car, looked out my window, and went forward on impulse. (don't know why, but I just did :cj:)
Barely tapped the car in front of me at 2-3mph, pulled to the side. Damage to him: nothing, my bumper literally went under his camry. Damage to me: paint cracked at an area, just peeled it off and proceeded to rattle can it when i got home. (cracked paint area was about 2"x3")
So i get a call today from my insurance and they told me to get a quote blahblah.
Got the quote, why the hell would i pay $300 to get my bumper repainted?
So here's my question: what will happen now?
(sorry to ask such a noob question, but this is my first little incident. Also can't help but laugh at the fact that this camry guy contacted insurance even though nothing happened to him..)

i don't see why it would if there was NO damage to the other guy's car. as in no repair damage and if you don't want your car fixed.

If you don't actually file the claim to repair your car, and the guy in the Camry doesn't want his car repaired because there is no damage, AND if you didn't recieve a ticket for the incedent then you shouldnt see any change.
But just for future reference, ALWAYS take pictures of the accident, damage or lack of damage to the other vehicle (make sure the plate #) is in the picture. Also take pictures of your car and where the accident happened. People have had no damage then all of the sudden they want you to pay for repairs or hosiptal bills that arent needed or even on a different car!!
This happened to a friend of mine who bumped into a red 2000ish corolla, no damage, but gave them his insurance info. A few weeks later he found out they filed a claim w/ his insurance to fix their 95 chysler cirrus that they say he hit... He ended up going to court and not paying anything but its not worth the hassle.

Well the guy in the Camry can get money off of you if he wants to since you hit him from behind and I believe if he were to file a claim you would have 1 point added to your record causing your insurance premium to rise. I could be wrong but that's how I always thought it works.

If you don't want your bumper repaired then just refuse service.

Is this a rhetorical question?
So here's my question: what will happen now?
Get an attorney or represent yourself. Ask the mods to lock and delete this thread. Negotiate with the Camry driver and pay him whatever amount is fair.

You need to change your attitude before you upset the Camry driver and the insurance companies. Are you a certified technician? Are you a licensed insurance adjustor? How do you know if there were or were not any damages?
In the eye of the law for a civil case like this, anything you say would be self-serving without further proof. If there is no proof then it's words against words. Whoever has more integrity wins.
