how much horsepower can be made w/this combo?
heard that the 240sx in nasport racing w/limited
venturis and 44mm carbs easily make above 250hp to the
wheels. any one have an idea i am an old schooler
and i love the sidedrafts. hear them roar. any info would be surely
appreciated. thanks.

probably one of the only ways to get that kind of horsepower na out of the ka24e is the use of sidedraft individual carbs. those carbs combined with high compression and other tuning could easily get you to that hp. i personally love the ka24e and am working on my na buildup. i could only dream of that manifold and carb setup

50mm = overcarburetion! There is such a thing as too big. Stick with the 44s, keep the velocity up in the KA24E's useful rev range.

yes if you were just to bolt that setup onto a basic ka24e it would be overkill. with a proper engine build they could be greatly utilized. ok and this may be ot but i dont want to start a thread or search for days, is there a definate difference between ka24e truck and 240sx camshaft? yeah i should know but i havent had the chance to properly mic the two

I don't know a huge amount about carb setups, but I have noticed all carb KAs seem to use individual throttle bodies for each cylinder. They can make a mean amount of power, but you'd definitely need to open up the block to get to those power levels.

1. i'd stick with the 44's. i had dual 40DCOE's on my 16v rabbit (2.1L) and it was almost too much.
2. having a fuel injected car converted to carbs can be pretty weird. there are things like spark advance that are designed to work with a signal from something that isn't there any more. i'd rather do the nismo carb manifold with individual throttle bodies, and then use some kind of aftermarket injection system (or maybe there's a way to change the chip in some way - the only thing that you'd have to relocate or replace would be the MAF, i think)
3. i'm not sure if you'd HAVE to open up the block, a cam and proper carb tuning and exhaust should yield some serious power - but if the carbs aren't perfectly in tune you'll be wasting a lot of potential power.
but man, no turbo car can compare to the evil roar that occurs when you give a car with ITB's or throttle stacked carbs gas.

does someone have a pic of this, or a dyno chart of it. this sounds like an awesome setup

gentlemen i wonder if you guys have ever heard of
rebello racing, malvern racing, or abacus racing?
these companies are very reliable ka24e engine
builders and do so for the high compression(12.5-13:1)
and carburetted(mikuni 44's w/ limited venturis)
GT3 race enignes. dave rebellos engines have been very
sucessful in his profession and has been winning many races by
his customer who use his engines. i understand that there
are tons of modifications done to the engine to breathe
and make alot more hp. i heard that they can make 240+hp
on restricted carbs and probably more with the 50mm carbs.
mods have to be done to the valve train and of course bigger
valves modified rockers and so on. very good power from
these N/A motors and nothing sounds as good as an engine on
properly tuned MIKUNI CARBS. THESE CARBS RULE. guys i'll post
my nismo manifold and 44mm mikuni carbs on the gallery check it
out i'll also try to post the 50mm later. hope you can dream
of it in your racer. :D :D :D :D
