Bought this car already swapped over with an s14sr in a s13 chasis. Everything apperas pretty much stock except the usual mods, exhuast, fmic. Anyways i was driving it for a while and it ran really strong and pulled pretty hard. i wanna say that when i first got it i think it had this problem but it was so minor of a hesitation that i looked right past it. recently i pulled out the stock turbo and put in a gt2871r, the car is not tuned so i dont expect it to run great. The car always starts and holds an idle but when start driving it completely cuts out randomly. ill be cruising on the highway at a steady speed with my foot on the pedal then out of no where the car will just loose all power as if someone turned the car off once the rpms drop after a second or 2 power kicks back in. I hooked upa wideband to check the afrs with the new turbo and seems like everytime the car dies its leaning waaaaaaaaaaay out and once power comes in despite being on the lean side the numbers are ok. Im thinking its the fuel pump just cause the fact that it leaning out and happens noticeably more when the car is low on fuel. What do you think?

was happening to me randomly too, check your ignition wire in your steering column, one of my wires was loose and everytime id hit a bump my car would shut off. hope this helps

I don't think its anything electric since nothing actually turns off guages don't screw up or anything just complete loss of power not a hesitation or bog but likethe fuel pump is being turned off and on. Is this common for a dying fuel pump or do pumps just die

is the engine shutting of or is it just a performance loss

if it's leaning out yes it may be a fuel pump. You running a wal255?

check your fuel pump, fuel filter, fpr, take it to a shop and have them check your fuel pressure at diffewrent rpms. Most likely one of those problems if not start checking your ignition system.

sounds like it COULD be a fuel pump issue, definitely try and get a walbro 255 if you already dont. if you dont, then im a little stumped on this one.

Sounds like anything from MAF being incorrectly wired to incorrect ECU, or maybe your fuel pressure is dropping off under load.

I would start by checking your fuel pressure, under load if possible

If you are totally lost as what I even mean to say above then I would try to find a local shop that will do an affordable diagnosis.

I offer one for 80 bucks flat rate for basic and 160 for the more invasive one if you're interested.

pull the fuel pump out and check the condition of the sock filter...often times the tank is full of sediment and it clogs the filter.
