i was thinking of lowering the car and to get new tires and get a stretch while im at it. I dont want too much of a stretch, just something that will look good on this rim and clear the fenders.
specs:
17x7
4x114.3
+42 offset
current wheels 215/45/17
thanx for any help in advance.

i would sell those rims in a heartbeat.
those offset wouldnt look that good on s-chassis
plus its not even wide enough to make it look a nice stretch.

basically your rim isn't wide enough to stretch a tire adequately sized for a 240. You could run a 195 up front which wouldn't be the end of the world and may give you a little stretch but you'd be better off with 205 or sticking with 215 for traction sake. These guys have a point however insensitive. Your offset is way high so you shouldn't have to worry about rubbing and your rim width is so low stretching a tire isn't practical. stretching is whatever, it's a looks thing, stick with grip for now, save up for better wheels and stretch when you have a wider rim. Good luck

you got stock offset for your 1/2" wider wheel, stretching a tire on that is absolutely pointless and not needed. there are no other suggestions. THIS IS FACT.
there is a thread on here for flush wheel/stretch tires. it has almost 1.4 MILLION views! why haven't you seen it yet? i'm not going to link it for you, if you can't find it go jump off a cliff.

Ok like everyone said...... get some NORMAL tires for it right now. Being pointless to stretch these tires. Save up for nice nice rims that how a low offset!
Not negative, realistic. You can't do anything with those rims. They wouldn't be bad looking if you bought bigger sizes. Atleast 17x9. But seeing as how you didn't, you are now getting the truth.
Save up the money and this time make a purchase that will actually make the car handle better, if not atleast look better.

Good luck finding any tire small enough to stretch onto a 7inch wide rim. Should have went a 9 wide and 215 or 225 40/45 tire.
Lets put it this way. 1 inch = 25.4mm. a 7 inch wide rims would be about 180mm. As far as I know they dont make 17inch tires that arent spares under 205.
Conclusion is to return those and get wider and better fitting rims.

Bullshit....! If he already has those on his car, he knows they are sunken, and a stretched tire would only make it worse. And wheres the question?

so if you've seen the thread already a "zillion" times then you should know that everyone in that thread has tire/wheel setups that are a zillion times better than yours. i run 17x9+5's all around my s13 thank you very much. hands down that alone is a zillion times better than yours. your personal choice in wheel size and offset is instant fail.
