Yes.. I've done another road trip, and more time to contemplate the mysteries of life.

When people get mobile homes... why do they make it a permanent fixture? Doesn't that defeat the purpose of a mobile home?

You know that warnings on things are because people did it in the past. I just wanna know who had so little time, they decided to blow-dry their hair before they got out of the shower. I'm thinking it was a woman.. but... shouldn't common sense have taken that idea over? It was probably the same person that NEEDS a cigarette while filling up with gas. Time is so precious.
And now... the High Mileage engine oil commercial with the baby under the Blazer. "Do Not Attempt [to put a baby on a creeper under your SUV on jackstands]." Really? What can happen? WHO THE HELL DOES THIS?!?

Mathematics is wrong. You can't have 3/2, or three halves. As in... three (3) parts of an object that has been divided into two (2) even pieces.
Sorry.. that one just bothered me.

In movie credits.. what the hell is a "Best Boy?" I could understand if it were Sunday Mass credits.. but I'm not seeing how it relates to a movie.

Can a Hummer fit into a standard carage, or car-port? If so, when will it get bigger? You know it has to happen. One day, people will be driving their garages around town. It'll be sad.

Bush is a moron. Quite obvious, but today especially. After 30 states are in debt, education is crumbling, medicare and social security for the 0-25 year olds has a dismal future... Bush has done it. First, we vow to spend 300 BILLION dollars "rebuilding Iraq" after we spent $80 BILLION unbuilding Iraq. Now, there is a "tax cut." $300+ BILLION more dollars are being given back to the rich and powerful. How do I know? $300 BILLION is enough to give a $1000 check to EVERY man, woman, child and baby in America. Will I see this? No. So if I'm not getting my $1000... someone else is. And they are rich and powerful. Moron.

Ehh.. that's all I thought of. I've been awake for 40 hours straight, with a 4 hour nap in there somewhere. Driving sucked, and so did the cops.
By the way.. how come red lights instantly change the moment my car comes to a complete stop? Not before, and not after.. or I wouldn't be infuriated. The moment the weight settles, the light changes!

Actually most the money is going to people with kids :o The more kids you can pump out the more your tax return will be (something like over 3k for 2 kids and a household income of 50K+ and over 2k for under 50K of nual income) A single person like you (I assume) or me making less then 30K a year will get a fat refund of about $50 :(

the richest 10% pay something like 50% or so of the taxes.

The top 1% pays 10% of taxes.

That is why they get more back, cause they pay more.

I'm glad someone set the record straight. My friends father made seven digits last year and he owed 80k in takes not to mention the money that was already withheld from his income.

Oh no. Even the very bottom of 7 digits, $1,000,000 paying $80k in taxes = 8% tax. $9,999,999 income and $80k tax = .8%
Last tax year I made $8,000 (Hey.. I'm a full time college student) and paid $1200 in taxes. That's 15% of my income taxed!
Nobody is setting the record straight. Lower income people pay a larger portion of their income to taxes. They should also get more back, cuz they need it. It doesn't make sense that people making 7 figures get more back than I do. The get to keep a larger portion of their income!

What are you b1tching about. There is a pretty substantial tax break for being a college student. You get most of your paid taxes back. Well I did when I was in school. The thing is when you get out of school and you start to make the 75-80k that I know you will be shooting for within the 2-3yr period you will be complaining that you are getting killed in taxes then too.

Death and taxes...I have come to accept them both;) :D

For someone making at least a million dollars, $80G isn't "killed" at all. Also, there are funny tax laws about bieng a college student, and I always get screwed, but that's not what I'm bitching about.
The problem is that in the above tax scenario, they are paying a smaller percentage of their wealth than barely-gettin-by me. Don't you see that? Rich people get to keep more of their money, and then get big-*** tax breaks. Poor people, like the majority of this board get screwed.

Here ya go jeff. Rich people, spend more money on luxury items than the normal say college student does. The rich folk can go out and buy somthing on a whim or eat out and it all filters down. Without the people at the top of the food chain spending money, nothing trickles down to the lower people. Its what seperates us from communisum. Thats why they get the tax cut and we get taxed.

You're wrong. You are all wrong!
Rich people are rich because they keep their money. Poor people are poor cuz a) they don't have it, and b) they spend it. If Bush really wanted to spur the economy, then give money to the poor people. First off, they deserve it, since a larger percentage of their income goes to taxes. Secondly, if you drop a grand on a poor family, chances are, it'll be spent in a week. New TV, since theirs is old, going out to eat, cuz it's a luxury.. you get the idea.

Ehh.. that list sucks. 1800 Jefferson was elected, we had good, prosperous times.. and he died of natural causes on July 4th. In 1820, James Monroe was also a decent president. He died of natural causes, and created the Monroe Doctorine that we go by today.

I don't know who wrote the list, It was an email i received, but i would think it was somebody who knows a lot about US history to notice when those presidents have died.
Jeff, the lists starts in 1840 and all of them have died or were assasinated in office except for Reagan who survived.
